Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists... it is real... it is possible... it's yours. - Ayn Rand

Ladies remember: Successful people are not afraid to fail; they have the ability to accept their failures and continue on, knowing that failure is a natural consequence of trying. The law of failure is one of the most powerful of all.....you only really fail when you quit trying. - Wynn Davis.

Awesome Job SCSC

This past long course season saw SCSC achieve its highest placing in the USA Swimming Virtual Club Championships.  The team this year finished 29thin the country and improvement of 20 places from the previous year and our best finish ever by the club.  I would like to take  a moment to give our membership a bit of background about the Virtual Club Championships (VCC).  The VCC automatically ranks all USA Swimming member clubs based on swimmer performance.  The VCC recognizes and highlights clubs that are developing athletes and achieving success at multiple levels emphasizing the team element in club swimming.

The VCC is tabulated annually for both the short and long course seasons.  The tabulation begins September 1 of the year and is completed August 31 of the following year.  All registered USA Swimming Clubs are automatically scored and the program scores single age groups from 11-16 years of age and combines the 17-18 age group.  Swimmers may only score in four events and only the top two swims per event are scored.  The importance of this is that every SCSC swimmer can score for the club and how you perform, how you practice and train, and reach for the goals you have for yourself, matter.

As a staff we are proud of everyone for their performances last year, but let’s keep climbing and believing that we can and will be even more exceptional in 2013-2014.
