Meet our new Staff

SCSC welcomes new assistant coach Patricia Laverty to Yellow 1&2

Patricia Laverty moved from Washington to attend California Polytechnic State University in 2005.  Before she moved to California, she lifeguard and taught swim lessons for people from ages 3-60 years old from her sophomore year of high school to her sophomore year in college.  Along with her teaching lessons and coaching, she swam year round from the age of six and was recruited to swim at Cal Poly.  She also coached and competed for the Cal Poly Triathlon Team along with coaching for the South Snohomish County Dolphins in the summer.  Last summer, she was the Assistant Head Coach for the Los Ranchitos Cabana Club.

Along with swimming, Patricia also loves bikes.  She works at Mikes Bikes in Los Gatos.  She is currently working on going back to school for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She is excited to start working with the swimmers, parents and coach who make Santa Clara Swim Club such an amazing organization!

We also welcome three new Safety Coordinators, Shannon Coelho, Rachel Limon and Kyle Ghazanfari!

Performance

We've kicked off this new season with two weeks of challenging practices. You've all been pushed to your limits and have done exceedingly well. With the Walnut Creek meet this weekend, be prepared to continue to work and put 100% effort into every practice.  Let's get excited to see all of your hard work pay off!

Performance Prep

Our workout time will remain 3:30 to 5:30 pm.  The Walnut Creek Sr. II meet is this weekend; be sure to eat healthy & stay hydrated all week, and get ready to swim some good baseline times for the season!

Senior

There will be a swimmer meeting on Tuesday, 10/15 @ 5:45 pm, and a parent meeting on Friday, 10/18 @ 7 pm.  Swimmers will finish practice at 7, and coaches will meet with the parents in the Rotunda at that time.  After the QSS meet in 2 weeks, the next meet for us is the Gilroy CBA+ meet in Morgan Hill, November 22-24th. Please get entries in NOW, as it will fill up quickly.  All Senior swimmers must enter meets!
