Action Photos during the Meet

This year we will have a very professional photography duo taking action shots of our remarkable swimmers.  This entirely VOLUNTEER effort is headed up by MVP parent Les Hata, who will be joined by Sleepy Hollow parent Curran Kwan on the pool deck throughout the weekend taking action shots of OMPA preliminary swims. Photo sign-ups will take place all weekend, starting Thursday August 6th during team warm-ups at the OMPA Photo Booth located on  SODA   Center  pool deck. 100% of the $5.00 fee goes to support our school foundations, EFO and MEF, here in Orinda and  Moraga .  The photographers are able to photograph a limited number of swimmers per heat.  Sign ups are on a first come, first served basis, so make use of your time at Thursday Warm ups to take advantage of his great opportunity.  See attached flier for details.

Warm-Ups

  1. Teams are cautioned about possible road construction on  Moraga Rd.  near downtown  Lafayette , on Thursday, August 6th during warm-ups.  Either allow extra time for the one lane closure, or go through Orinda .

  2. Please remind your swimmers not to hang on the lane lines during warm ups.  They have been known to break!

  3. If your team is scheduled to use Warm-up lane 20, it will be the closest lane to the baseball/football field side of the pool (or what you might think of as lane 1).  Warm-up lanes #11 – 19 are on the other side of the 10 competition lanes (the ones with the blocks).  See attached chart.

Team Areas

Please note the following very important items:

1.        Quad Locations: The hallways adjacent to your team areas can also be utilized.

2.        Varsity Baseball Field Location:  The gates will be locked each night and the maintenance staff will not water the field.  No vehicles are allowed on the grass at any time. Also, any type of stake to secure tents/structures is not allowed (to avoid puncture of the irrigation pipes).  You may use 5 gallon water buckets to hold down your team structures, and water will be available.  The Infield, bleachers, and pitching mounds are strictly off-limits. Please monitor your team children and make sure the baseball field remains in good condition, or this privilege will be revoked.

3.        Set up Times for team areas: The set up times for the Quad and Baseball Field are from 12-8 pm on Thursday August 7th

4.        At previous OMPA swim meets, the grass areas were damaged do to coverings. There will absolutely be no heavy blankets or tarps, allowed on top of any grass areas this year, and all towels or other items covering the grass must be picked up at the end of each day to allow the grass to breathe. The grass areas will not be watered from Thursday through Sunday.
