Coach Bridget Honored at the recent MAC Fall Frenzy Meet.
The Monocacy Aquatic Club is proud to dedicate our annual Fall
Frenzy Meet to the
memory of Bridget Vaché. Bridget, who moved to Maryland in the early 1980’s, didn’t
begin competitive swimming until she was in college. After a very successful college
swimming career in Florida, she was hooked on the sport and continued her competitive
ways at Rockville Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC). After several years in Rockville,
Bridget brought her passion for the sport of swimming to the Monocacy Aquatic Club.
Here, she quickly became involved in the club at all levels. Not only did she practice and
compete as a swimmer for MAC, but she was an avid volunteer who helped head up
fundraising events, helped at all of our meets, was part of our board of directors, and
was a MAC coach for almost two decades. She was a swimmer, coach, friend and
mentor. Bridget was the driving force behind the implementation of the MD Swimming
license plates which also made her widely known throughout the Maryland Swimming
LSC. Bridget worked tirelessly to spread her love of swimming at MAC, in the Frederick
area and throughout the state of Maryland.
Her dedication as a mother, swimmer, coach and volunteer will always be remembered
by MAC and the swimming community. Her presence on the pool deck at MAC and
throughout Maryland Swimming will be missed. The MAC family is honored to dedicate
our Fall Frenzy Meet to Bridget. Going forward, this meet will be the Bridget Vaché
Memorial MAC Fall Frenzy.
