Coaches Hired for Fall Swim Season

I'm pleased to announce that we have hired two new coaches for the upcoming season. Both will be an asset to our program and bring great experience and enthusiasm to our club.

First, Jeb Beaver is coming back to MAC to coach Age Group II. Jeb most recently was on the coaching staff that helped Towson University win the Colonial Athletic Association (NCAA Division I) Conference title and train NCAA championship and All American swimmers. Jeb has also coached for Walkersville High School and Hood College. During his first stint with MAC, Jeb coached numerous Top-16 swimmers and Maryland State record holders.

Before beginning his coaching career, Jeb swam for Walkersville High School where he was twice named First Team All-Area by The Frederick News-Post. After Walkersville, Jeb swam for Towson University, served as a team captain in 2002 and 2003, and set three school records during his career. He was also an America East Conference champion in 2001, an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference champion in 2003, and set a Colonial Athletic Association record in 2003.

Jeb lives in Walkersville with his wife, Anna. Jeb and Anna had a baby in December, and there are pictures in the photo gallery.

In addition, we have added Lori Rogers to our coaching staff to help with our Novice program. Lori grew up in South Africa and Namibia and has lived in the United States for 13 years. She started competitive swimming at the age of 8 and achieved two world records for age group swimming while being trained by an American coach in Namibia. She swam for Namibia and South Africa. She has a PE degree from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and taught swimming classes for several years in South Africa. Lori most recently was the age group coach and novice coach for the New Berlin Swim Club in Wisconsin where she coached several state swimmers for the 2008/9 state teams.

We look forward to having Jeb and Lori on the deck this fall.
