April 1, 2009
This is the MAC News for Monday, April 1st.
Kiersten Bell's 1000 free time posted at the Sectional meet this past weekend was good not only for the 17-18 girls team record mentioned yesterday but also for the Open girls record. Sorry for the omission!
Don't forget, all groups are on break beginning today through next Wednesday with the exception of the Novice swimmers competing in the MSC meet this weekend. Those swimmers will have practice tomorrow in the indoor pool from 4:30-5:30.
The meet notice for the NAAC Spring Long Course Elite Meet ( http://www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/NAAC_Spring_Long_Course_Elite_Meet.htm) scheduled for May 2-3 at St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City has been posted at both pools. This meet is open to all of our 11 year and older swimmers with long course "A" times and our 10 & under swimmers who meet the modified "BB/A" times in the meet notice. The fee for one day is $25 and two days is $47. All entries, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by 7:00 pm, Tuesday, April 7th (watch for a possible deadline change due to the break). If you have any questions as to whether your child should attend this meet, please speak to your child's coach.
The practice schedule for next week will be modified as follows - Senior Red and Black will swim from 7:00-9:00 am on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Senior White will swim from 7:00-9:00 am on Thursday, Friday, and Monday and from 9:00-10:30 on Saturday. Age Group II will swim from 9:00-10:30 am on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday. All Novice groups will have normal practices. Senior Prep and Masters will swim from 5:30-6:30 on Thursday. Information regarding Senior Prep and Masters Monday, April 13th practice as well as the Age Group I schedule will be posted as soon as it is received.
Please be aware that in early May Hood will be performing maintenance on the outdoor pool and MAC practices from May 7th - May 16th will be moved to either Frederick High or Middletown High. More information will be posted soon. The bubble will be coming down on Saturday, May 9th so be sure to reserve that date on your calendar now as we will need everyone's help.
Enjoy the break!
