Here are a few additions to the recap of the LSC Championship meet. In addition to the individual team records that were set at the meet, there were 3 new relay records set. The team of Margot Manning, Jacy Icard, Shannon McClellan, and Hanne Borgersen broke the 13-14 girls 400 free relay record. Jacy Icard, Christina Hyrkas, Hanne Borgersen, and Margot Manning topped the 13-14 girls 400 medley relay record. Finally, Jake Carlsen, Muhammad Hudhud, Evan Kolovich, and Sam Ciocco lowered the 13-14 boys 400 medley relay record. On Saturday evening, our team was presented with a check for $2,550 from Maryland Swimming as part of the 2008 Maryland Swimming grant program. It was the 2nd highest award in the LSC. This year's grant amount was based almost solely on swimmers' performances over the year, with a smaller portion based on the operation of our club. Congratulations to our coaching staff and our swimmers for their part in this award! During the same ceremony, our own Margot Manning was presented with the 2007-2008 short course 11-12 Female Outstanding Swimmer award based on her performance during the short course season last year. Our outstanding swims helped the team to a 4th place finish overall, with the girls finishing 2nd and the boys finishing 6th. Way to go!
