Seven MAC swimmers took top spots in the recent Robert J Hogan Memorial Mini....

This is the MAC News for Tuesday, February 3rd.

Seven MAC swimmers took top spots in the recent Robert J Hogan Memorial Mini Meet.  Gaby Collins was the winner of the 7 & under girls 25 fly.  Kimmy Cummings took the gold in the 10 year old girls 100 and 200 free and the 100 breaststroke.  Hamed Hudhud was the fastest in the 9 year old boys 100 free, 50 and 100 breaststroke, and the 100 IM.  Eliza Manning touched the wall first in the 9-10 girls 200 IM, the 10 year old 50 and 100 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, and 100 IM.  Sean O'Connell received blue ribbons in the 9-10 boys 200 IM, the 10 year old boys 50, 100, and 200 free, the 100 breaststroke, and the 100 IM.  Besting the field in the 6 & under boys 25 breaststroke was Alexander Riedel and last, but certainly not least, Jessie Williams took top honors in the 9-10 girls 100 fly and the 9 year old girls 100 backstroke.  In addition, many, many, many of our swimmers achieved lifetime best times!  Way to go, everyone!

Senior Prep and Masters swimmers, please note that practice will be cancelled tomorrow due to a coaches meeting (the last coaches meeting was cancelled due to weather).  Remember, there will be makeup practices available this coming Friday and next Friday from 8:00-9:00 pm in the bubble for anyone interested in attending.

 

 

 

The meet notice for the Maryland Swimming Championship meet ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/2009_Maryland_Swimming_Championship_Meet.htm) has been posted.  The meet is scheduled for March 5-8 and will be conducted at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.  This meet is open to swimmers who meet or beat the qualifying times.  The fee for participation is $59.  All entries, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by 12:00 pm Saturday.  If you have any questions as to whether your child should attend this meet, please speak to your child's coach.  Don't worry, swimmers who qualify at either the ASC Senior meet or the GBSA Last Chance meet will be added to the team's entries (be sure to let your swimmer's coach know that they qualified and wish to attend). 

The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:15, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 all in the bubble.  All of the Novice groups will swim in the indoor pool - Novice I from 4:30-5:30, Novice II from 5:30-6:30, and Novice III from 6:30-7:30.  There is no practice today for Age Group I.  Seniors will have morning practice tomorrow from 5:15-6:30.
