Information regarding the RAC Classic this weekend ...

This is the MAC News for Friday, January 16th.

Information regarding the RAC Classic this weekend may be found in several places.  The warm-up schedule is here - www.mdswim.org/Assets/Meet+Page/Meet+Info/08-09/RAC+Classic+Warmups.pdf and the psych sheet is here - www.mdswim.org/Assets/Meet+Page/Meet+Info/08-09/RAC+Classic+Psych+Sheet.rtf.  Best of luck to everyone competing!

Don't forget there are a few practice schedule changes due to this meet.  Tomorrow, all Senior Red, Black, and White swimmers not attending the meet will swim from 9:00-10:30 in the bubble.  On Monday, those Senior Red, Black, and White swimmers not at the meet will swim from 7:00-9:00 AM, also in the bubble, with NO afternoon practice.

If your family has not yet signed up to fulfill its two session meet volunteer commitment, please contact Helene Williams at either dandhwilliams@aol.comor at 301-607-6475.  We need EVERYONE'S help to make this a successful fund-raiser.

Ads for the Hogan meet program are due to the Washabaugh folder by Wednesday.

Entries for the ASC Senior Invitational ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/Annapolis_Swim_Club_Senior_Invitational_Meet.htm are due by 12:00 pm TOMORROW.  Friday, January 23rd at 6:00 pm, is the deadline for entries and fees for the GBSA Last Chance State Championship Qualifying meet ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/GBSA_Last_Chance_State_Championship_Qualifying_Meet.htm).

On the MAC bulletin board in the bubble hallway, a petition has been posted for those interested in voicing their opposition to the elimination of any sport in Frederick County Public Schools.  At the current time, there is a proposal by the Board of Education to eliminate freshman athletics and high school swimming.  If high school swimming is eliminated, MAC will lose its venue for the Hogan Meet, our greatest source of fundraising revenue.  We will also lose our back up practice venues as the pools will be permanently closed.  Please stop by the bulletin board in the hallway of the bubble and consider signing the petition voicing your opposition to the closing of the three FCPS swimming pools.

The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:30, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, and Age Group II from 6:00-8:00 all in the bubble.  Age Group I will swim in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15.  There is no practice today for Senior Prep, Novice, or Masters.  Saturday's practice schedule is normal with the exception noted above - Senior Red, Black, and White and Age Group II from 9:00-10:30 and Novice from 10:30-11:30 in the bubble.  Age Group I will swim from 7:30-9:00 in the indoor pool.  Monday's practice schedule will be normal as well with the exception noted above - Senior Red, Black, and White from 7:00-9:00 AM, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00 PM, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 PM all in the bubble.  Age Group I will swim in the indoor pool from from 4:30-6:15.  There is no practice on Monday for Novice.

Have a great weekend!
