November 26, 2007
This is the MAC News for Monday, November 26th.
Remember, the entries for the GTAC/MAC Winter Frolics meet (www.mdswim.org/Schedule/2007GTACMACWINTERFROLICSMEETNOTICErev.doc), December 14-16, at McDaniel College in Westminster are due on Tuesday. As this is a meet we cohost with Green Terror, and therefore a fundraiser for our team, the coaching staff is asking that ALL swimmers from ALL groups plan to attend. Any questions should be directed to your child's coach.
Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet for timing and concessions donations for the Winter Frolics meet soon! Remember, as members of this club, each family is required to provide a volunteer for at least 2 sessions of the meets we host. This one is great one to volunteer for as the swimmers are down on the deck with the coaches and do not require parental supervision.
Renee Hyrkas will be placing a SCRIP order TODAY. She would like to place as large an order as possible, as the shipping costs for small orders cut into our profits. These cards make great stocking stuffers and may be used like cash for your holiday (or everyday) purchases. You don't pay anything extra and the club reaps a percentage of each sale. Don't forget, if you are staying at a Marriott property for any of the upcoming meets (or for your personal travel), these cards carry a whopping 12% return for our team! You may place your order by following the instructions on the SCRIP Program page of our website (www.macswim.net/scrip) or by contacting Renee (firstname.lastname@example.org). In addition, Renee has cards for Giant Eagle, Weis, and SuperFresh on hand for immediate delivery. Simply contact Renee for payment and delivery details.
Are you looking for some great Christmas presents for your MAC swimmer?? Helene Williams will be in the bubble today, tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday from 5:45-8:00 pm to facilitate MAC gear orders (T-shirts, sweatshirts, blankets, shorts, hats, etc.). In addition to getting a super gift for your swimmer, the team earns a small profit from each sale!
The practice schedule is a little different today due to the start of the taper for the Senior swimmers. Senior Red and Black will swim from 4:00-6:00, Senior White from 6:00-7:45 (NOTE: there are no drylands for this group until after the meets so be sure to be on time - swimmers will be IN THE WATER at 6:00), Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep from 8:00-9:00 all in the bubble. Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15. Remember, the younger swimmers do not need to taper as long and will begin their rest later. There is no practice today for Novice or Masters.
Today was the last regular morning practice until after the Christmas meet. Coach Andy will be at the pool on Wednesday morning from 5:15-6:30 for any high school swimmer looking to make up a missed practice due to a high school conflict. There will be NO morning practice for anyone on Friday.
