Please be aware this will be the last MAC News until Monday

This is the MAC News for Wednesday, November 21st.

Please be aware this will be the last MAC News until Monday as I will be away for the holiday.

Here are a couple of quick notes about today's practice schedule.  Coach Jeb would like all Age Group II swimmers to train this evening with Age Group I from 6:00-7:45 pm.  In addition, there will be NO Senior Prep practice this evening.

Renee Hyrkas will be placing a SCRIP order on MONDAY.  She would like to place as large an order as possible, as the shipping costs for small orders cut into our profits.  These cards make great stocking stuffers and may be used like cash for your holiday (or everyday) purchases.  You don't pay anything extra and the club reaps a percentage of each sale.  Don't forget, if you are staying at a Marriott property for any of the upcoming meets (or for your personal travel), these cards carry a whopping 12% return for our team!  You may place your order by following the instructions on the SCRIP Program page of our website (www.macswim.net/scrip) or by contacting Renee (rhyrkas@hyrk1.com).  In addition, Renee has cards for Giant Eagle, Weis, and SuperFresh on hand for immediate delivery.  Simply contact Renee for payment and delivery details.

Are you looking for some great Christmas presents for your MAC swimmer??  Helene Williams will be in the bubble several days next week (days and times TBA) to facilitate MAC gear orders (T-shirts, sweatshirts, blankets, shorts, hats, etc.).  Watch for an announcement.

The meet notice for the GTAC/MAC Winter Frolics meet (www.mdswim.org/Schedule/2007GTACMACWINTERFROLICSMEETNOTICErev.doc), December 14-16, at McDaniel College in Westminster, has been posted at both pools.  All entries, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by TUESDAY.  This meet is open to any MAC swimmer who would like to participate, regardless of the time standards.  Coach Andy is asking all Senior Red swimmers to train on Saturday morning and chose at least one event to swim on Sunday.  Senior Black is encouraged to swim on both days and Senior White on all three days.

We are co-hosts of this meet and as such, are required to provide timers for all sessions and donations to the concession stand.  Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet for these opportunities soon!  Remember, as members of this club, each family is required to provide a volunteer for at least 2 sessions of the meets we host.  This one is great one to volunteer for as the swimmers are down on the deck with the coaches and do not require parental supervision.

Here is the practice schedule for the next several days - Tonight, Senior Red and Black will swim from 4:00-6:30 and Age Groups I and II from 6:00-7:45 in the bubble.  All other groups are off this evening.  All groups are off on Thursday.  On Friday, Senior White will swim from 6:30-8:00 am, Senior Red and Black from 8:00-10:00 am, and Age Groups I and II from 10:00-12:00 all in the bubble.  Novice, Senior Prep and Masters are off.  On Saturday, practice will return to normal for Seniors Red, Black, and White, and Age Group II.  Age Group I and Novice will be off.  Senior Red and Black will begin their taper schedule on Monday, swimming from 4:00-6:00 (there will, however, be morning practice from 5:15-6:30).  The normal practice schedule resumes on Monday for all other groups.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
