This is the MAC News for Thursday, December 11th.
Helene Williams received lots of calls and e-mails from families volunteering to help with the GTAC/MAC Winter Frolics meet yesterday. THANK YOU! We are still in need of volunteers to fill several positions, however. For Friday night we need 3 timers; Saturday afternoon (13&over swimmers) - 1 timer and 1 safety marshall; Sunday morning (12&under swimmers) - 1 timer; and Sunday afternoon (13&over swimmers) - 3 timers. If your swimmer is attending any of these sessions and you will be at the meet anyway, please consider helping. Contact Helene at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 301-607-6475.
Don't forget, there has been a practice schedule change for TOMORROW that will affect Age Group I and II swimmers not at the NBAC Christmas meet. They will swim together from 4:30-6:15 in the bubble.
A quick reminder that entries and fees for the three meets that are currently posted are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm on Monday. Remember, most swimmers attending the NBAC Christmas meet have Monday off so it would be to your benefit to get your entries in before the meet.
The meet notice for the Mariner Winter Invitational (www.marinerswimming.org/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/mscjan09meet.doc), to be held at Loyola College on January 10th and 11th has been posted. This meet is open to all swimmers with SLOWER than "A" times. All entries, along with a check to cover the fees are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm Thursday, December 18th.
The practice schedule for today is as follows - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-5:00, Senior White swimmers attending the NBAC meet from 5:30-6:15, Age Group II swimmers attending the NBAC meet from 5:30-6:30, the rest of Senior White and Age Group II from 5:30-7:00, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 all in the bubble. All of the Novice Groups will swim in the indoor pool - Novice I from 4:30-5:30, Novice II from 5:30-6:30, and Novice III from 6:30-7:30. There is no practice today for Age Group I.
Best of luck to everyone competing the NBAC meet beginning tomorrow!
