Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at the GBSA meet

This is the MAC News for Monday, November 19th.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at the GBSA meet this past weekend.  Once the results are available, a wrapup will be posted here.

Here is a recap of the practice schedule for this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday:  All practices will be normal on Wednesday.  To avoid being out of the water for 2 days in a row, Senior White may attend MORNING practice from 5:15-6:30 with Senior Black on Wednesday.  All groups will be off on Thursday.  On Friday, Senior White will swim from 6:30-8:00 am, Senior Red and Black from 8:00-10:00 am, and Age Group I and II from 10:00-12:00 all in the bubble.  All other groups will be off.  Saturday practice will be normal for Seniors Red, Black, and White and Age Groups I and II.  Novice will be off on Saturday.

Please be sure you have completed your swimmer's 2008 USA Swimming registration (Ed Goundry at fgoundry@vglaw.orgis the contact) and that your first trimester dues, including the annual fundraising fee, have been paid (Fred Manning at fredmanning@comcast.netis the contact).  The deadline for both of these items has now passed!

The meet notice for the GTAC/MAC Winter Frolics meet (, December 14-16, at McDaniel College in Westminster, has been posted at both pools.  All entries, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by next Tuesday, November 27th.  This meet is open to any MAC swimmer who would like to participate, regardless of the time standards.  Coach Andy is asking all Senior Red swimmers to train on Saturday morning and chose at least one event to swim on Sunday.  Senior Black is encouraged to swim on both days and Senior White on all three days.

We are co-hosts of this meet and as such, are required to provide timers for all sessions and donations to the concession stand.  Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet for these opportunities soon!  Remember, as members of this club, each family is required to provide a volunteer for at least 2 sessions of the meets we host.  This one is great one to volunteer for as the swimmers are down on the deck with the coaches and do not require parental supervision.

Don't forget, Renee Hyrkas will be placing a SCRIP order in about a week, so place your order now.  It's an easy way to raise some money for our team.  Please direct all questions to Renee at The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:30, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep from 8:00-9:00 all in the bubble.  Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15.  There is no practice today for Novice or Masters.
