This is the MAC News for Tuesday, October 7th. 

TOMORROW is the deadline for entries for the two meets that are currently posted.  The CBAC Fall Warm-Up Meet ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/Chesapeake_Bay_Aquatic_Club_Fall_Warm-Up_Meet.htm is open to our swimmers who are 9 years old or older with entry times slower than "AA" time standards.  It is intended to be a meet for our AGE GROUP swimmers (NOT OUR SENIORS), especially those Novice swimmers who are not eligible for the CAA meet in October.  Fees are $23 for one day or $43 for both.  The HARY Hurricane Harvest Festival Swim Meet ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/HARY_Hurricane_Harvest_Festival_Swim_Meet.htm) is open to our 10 & under swimmers.  Fees are $18 for one day or $33 for two.  If you have questions as to whether your child should attend either of these meets, please ask your child's coach. 

Here is some information regarding the RAC meet this weekend that we have been asked to pass along one more time.  

·          The meet will be doing dive overs.  Please have your swimmer talk to his or her coach if they are unsure what this means. 

·          There will be no deck entries allowed.

·          All swimmers must be clothed (shirt, shorts/pants and shoes) when leaving the deck or locker room area.

·          No parents will be allowed on deck at any time.

·          No one is to be on the basketball court floor at any time.

·          There is no ball throwing anywhere inside the facility.

·          We ask those sitting out by the indoor track to have their kids play quite games – or watch videos.  We will not be able to allow ball throwing , running games or skate shoes at anytime.  
 

Meet notices for the two NBAC meets MAC will compete in during the month of November have yet to be posted by the meet director.  So, the information we have concerning these two meets is very limited.  Our coaching staff is concerned that if we don’t start collecting meet entries now, we will not have enough time to get our entries in before the meet shuts out.
 
As of today – this is what we know about the two meets:
 
The (NBAC) North Baltimore Aquatic Club Fall FAST ival will be held November 8-9, 2008, at the UMBC Natatorium at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD. This meet is open to swimmers 13 & Over with ‘A’ Times and Faster and 12 & Under with ‘BB’ times and Faster. Fees are $23 for one day or $43 for both.
 
The (NBAC) North Baltimore Aquatic Club Fall Warm-up Meet will be held November 14 - 16, 2008, at Towson University. This meet is open to all swimmers and there are no time standards. Fees are $8 for Friday, $23 for Saturday or Sunday, $28 for Friday and Saturday or Sunday, or $48 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you have questions as to whether your child should attendeither of these meets, please ask your child's coach.  We want to collect meet entries this week with the deadline for entries for these two meets being 12:00 pm. this Saturday, October 11th, 2008. 
  
As soon as the meet notices become available on the MD Swimming website we will post them. 

All parking passes have been placed in family files in the filing cabinet in the baby pool area. If you requested a parking pass for the Chapel lot, please pick up your pass and begin using the Chapel lot as soon as possible.  Files for new families have been prepared and are in the filing cabinet thanks to Toni James. 

MAC is currently running a Joe Corbi's pizza fundraiser to support the Frederick Rescue Mission.  All orders are due to the Fundraiser folder on or before Saturday, October 18th.   Questions should be directed to Cheryl Knapp at 240-394-0226 or at cherylknapp@ix.netcom.com. 

There will be no practice on Saturday for any of the Senior groups (Red, Black, or White) due to the EST meet Saturday afternoon.  All other practices on Saturday will be normal. 

The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:15, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 all in the bubble.  All Novice groups will swim in the indoor pool - Novice I from 4:30-5:30, Novice II from 5:30-6:30, and Novice III from 6:30-7:30.  There is no practice today for Age Group I.  The next morning practice will be on Friday from 5:15-6:30.
