This is the MAC News for Tuesday, September 16th.
For those of you who e-mailed Fred Manning indicating your desire for a Chapel Lot parking pass, Fred is in need of some additional information to apply for the passes. Please e-mail Fred (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the make, model, year, color, and tag number of the cars to receive a pass by TOMORROW.
We are looking to put up the framework for the doors to the bubble on Thursday. If you are available on Thursday between 12:00 and 2:00 pm and would like to help, please contact Fred at the above address.
All entries for the RAC (Retriever Aquatic
Club) Columbus Day Classic(
to be held October 11-12, at UMBC, along with a check to cover the fees ($23 for 1 day or $43 for 2 days), are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm on Thursday.
The meet notice for the CAA Early Season Mini & Mid Distance Meet ( http://www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/Columbia_Aquatics_Association_Early_Season_Mini___Mid_Distance_Meet.htm), to be held on Sunday, October 19, at the Howard Community College Pool, has been posted. This meet is open to our NOVICE SWIMMERS ONLY. All entries, along with a check to cover the fees ($23), are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 23rd.
The meet notice for the EST Quad meet to be held at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills on October 12th has been posted. This meet is open to all swimmers in Senior White, Black, or Red. There are no time standards for this meet. All entries, along with a check for $19 are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 27th.
For all of these meets, if you have any question as to whether your swimmer should attend any of these meets, please contact his or her coach.
Please be aware the bills for the first trimester have been e-mailed. If you have not received a bill, it is because we do not have a valid e-mail address for you. Those without a valid e-mail address will receive their bill by "snail" mail this week. Due to the lateness of this mailing, payment is due September 30th for those wishing to pay in full. If you wish to pay over 3 months, payments are due Sept. 30th, Oct. 15th, and Nov. 15th. Your swimmer's birth date and current group assignment have been included on the bill. Please verify this information and send any corrections to Fred Manning at email@example.com. Any questions or issues regarding your bill, should also be directed to Fred.
Due to Fair Day and the bubble raising, Friday's practice schedule will be modified as follows. Senior White will swim in the morning from 6:00-8:00 am and are asked to return in the evening to help with the bubble prep. Senior Red and Black will swim from 4:00-5:00 PM and will be expected to stay to help with the bubble preparations until approximately 6:00. Age Group I will swim in the indoor pool at their normal time, from 4:30-6:15, and Age Group II will have the day off. There will be NO practice for any group on Saturday morning due to the bubble raising.
There are many tasks associated with the bubble raising that need to be completed prior to Saturday. Anyone with time during the day or during your child's practice time this week who would like to help should contact Don Feinberg or Chris Kaplan at 301-696-3484. IN ADDITION, WE NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE (INCLUDING PARENTS) AT THE POOL FRIDAY EVENING BEGINNING AT 5:00 TO HELP WiTH BUBBLE PREP. The Annual Maryland Swimming Officials Clinic will take place on Sunday, September 21st from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm at UMBC. More information will be available soon on the Maryland Swimming website, www.mdswim.org.
The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:15, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 all in the outdoor pool. The Novice groups will all be in the indoor pool - Novice I from 4:30-5:30, Novice II from 5:30-6:30, and Novice III from 6:30-7:30. There is no practice today for Age Group I.
