The predominant source of funding for our club is our membership fees

This is the MAC News for Friday, November 30th.

The predominant source of funding for our club is our membership fees. We have been providing regular reminders concerning the need for accounts to be brought current or have arrangements made with our Treasurer, Fred Manning.  At it's most recent meeting, the MAC Board approved a resolution which integrated the MAC Membership Agreement ( into our Handbook for club operations. Part of this agreement specifies timing of payments and late fees associated with failure to pay on time.  In addition, at it's previous meeting, the Board voted to disallow swimmers from participating in meets if their membership fees are not current.

As a club, we are aware that sometimes people forget to pay their membership fee. We also very much understand that families encounter financial hardship. If you have overlooked the MAC bill, please pay it immediately. If you are having difficulty with the current payment, please communicate with the club. Fred Manning ( or 301.694.5199) is the contact concerning membership fees. Fred will be going out of town this weekend and MUST hear from families who are not current with their bills by Friday. Please take care of this matter to avoid having your swimmer excluded from the upcoming December meets.  For the majority of you who have paid your bills on time, we thank you!

If you placed an order for SCRIP, the order is in!  Renee Hyrkas will be at the pool this evening at 4:00 and 5:30 and again on Saturday at 9:00 to distribute the cards.  If these times do not work for you, please contact Renee at 301-693-0491 to make other arrangements.

Helene Williams will be in the bubble this evening from 4:30-6:15 (NOTE THE TIME CHANGE) taking orders for MAC gear.  This will be your final opportunity to place an order for Christmas delivery.

There are currently 2 sign-up sheets posted on the bulletin board outside the locker rooms in the bubble.  The first is for timing opportunities for the NBAC Christmas Invitational.  With 60 swimmers attending this meet, no family should need to work more than once.  The second is for the Winter Frolics meet that we co-host with Green Terror.  We are required to provide half of the timers for EVERY session of this meet.  This sheet is filling up, but, we are in great need for Friday evening and the afternoon sessions.  Please make every effort to fill these slots first!

The practice schedule for today is as follows - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-5:30, Senior White from 5:30-6:45 for those going to the NBAC meet and 5:30-7:00 for everyone else, and Age Group II from 6:00-8:00 all in the bubble.  Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15.  There is no practice today for Senior Prep, Novice, or Masters.  On Saturday, the practice schedule will be as follows - Senior Red and Black from 7:30-9:00, Senior White swimmers attending the NBAC meet from 9:00-10:15, the rest of Senior White and Age Group II from 9:00-10:30, and Novice from 10:30-11:30 all in the bubble.  Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 7:30-9:00.

Have a great weekend!
