It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of assist Coach

This is the MAC News for Monday, December 10th.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of former MAC assistant coach, Kyle Wilson.  Kyle collapsed on deck while coaching his new team at the NBAC meet yesterday.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kyle's family and his team as they deal with this tremendous loss.

On a happier note, MAC had a great showing at the meet this weekend - lots of best times and new team records!  A complete recap will be coming soon!

There are some practice schedule changes today due to the meet this past weekend.  All swimmers who competed at the Naval Academy this weekend have a well-deserved day off.  Age Group I and all Age Group II swimmers who did not swim this weekend (and those who did but will be taking another day off this week) will swim together from 4:30-6:15 IN THE BUBBLE.  Senior White swimmers who did not swim this weekend will swim from 5:15-6:15.  Senior Prep will be normal from 8:00-9:00.  There is no practice today for Novice or Masters.

The meet notice for the BAAC Splash (, January 5 and 6 at Towson University (note the location change from the past), will be posted today or tomorrow.  This meet is open to swimmers with slower than "BB" times.  All entries, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 18th.  Fees are as follows - $21 for one day, $39 for both.  As always, if you are unsure whether your child should attend this meet, please speak to his or her coach.

We are pleased to announce that MAC has achieved Level 1 Certification through USA Swimming's Club Recognition Program.  Our website now displays the logo signifying this accomplishment. This is an important milestone for our club and we thank Fred Manning, Andy Lehner, and Ellen Colket for working to make this happen.  For more information about the Club Recognition Program, go to the USA Swimming website:  One benefit of this certification is that it, along with our team's performance in the USA Swimming Virtual Club Championship, has made MAC eligible to receive approximately $2000 in grant money from Maryland Swimming.  For more information on the grant program and the Virtual Club Championship, click here:
