This is the MAC News for Friday, January 11th.
Here is a rundown of the upcoming due dates:
Today (Friday) - meet entries and fees for
the GBSA Last Chance meet
Tomorrow (Saturday) - meet entries and fees for the Robert J Hogan Memorial Mini meet - Splash for Cash Donations (make check payable to MAC and place in the
Monday - meet entries and fees for the ASC Senior Invitational
Tuesday - MAC dues payment, either in full or 1/3 if paying on the installment plan
As always, if you are unsure which meet your swimmer should attend, please speak to your child's coach.
Don't forget, there are some schedules changes for the meet this weekend. On Saturday, the afternoon session's warm-up will be from 12:00-12:50 with a session start of 1:00. On Sunday, the afternoon session's warm-up will run from 12:30-1:20 with a session start of 1:30. Warm-ups for Sunday's finals session will go from 4:30-5:05 with the session beginning at 5:15. All other times are unchanged. We have been told that the use of lawn chairs will be prohibited in the stands. Swimmers may still use chairs on the deck. In addition, the women's locker room in under construction. It will be open for the meet however. Finally, the UMBC men's and women's basketball teams have a double header on Saturday. Everyone is welcome to attend - shirt, shorts, and shoes are required. Coach Andy is asking that all morning swimmers be ready to get in the water at 6:45.
Anyone who did not receive a Maryland Swimming bag tag with the LSC Championship qualifying times on it that is interested in getting one, please contact Laurel Brabson, our Athlete Rep, at firstname.lastname@example.org by next Friday, January 18th and she will attempt to get some additional tags.
Sign up sheets for volunteer positions and concession donations for the Hogan Meet have been posted. Remember, as stated in the team handbook: "Each family is required to supply a volunteer for two (2) sessions at the MAC-hosted meets regardless of whether of not your child is swimming in the meet. If your family absolutely cannot attend either of the meets, it is your responsiblity to make arrangements with the meet director (in this case, Fred Manning - email@example.com) to help with a job prior to or after the conclusion of the meet. Families who do not comply with this requirement (you must work 2 sessions) will receive supplemental billing after the meet with an assessment of $75.00".

The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:30, Senior White and Senior Prep from 5:45-8:00, and Age Group II from 6:00-8:00 all in the bubble. Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15. There is no practice today for Novice or Masters. Tomorrow, there is no Senior Red and Black practice. Senior White, Age Group I and Age Group II will all train together from 9:00-10:30 and Novice will swim from 10:30-11:30 all in the bubble. There will be NO morning practice for Seniors on Monday.
