Don't forget, entries for the MSC Winter Invitational

This is the MAC News for Tuesday, January 8th.

Don't forget, entries for the MSC Winter Invitational (www.mdswim.org/Schedule/JAN_2008_MSC_Meet_Notice.doc) to be held January 19 and 20 at Loyola College are due to the meet entry folder by 8:00 pm TODAY.  This meet is open to swimmers with "BB" times and slower.  Senior White swimmers should note that their group will only be attending the meet on Saturday and all Senior White swimmers will compete in the Open events.

There has been a change to the entry deadline for the GBSA Last Chance meet (www.mdswim.org/Schedule/GBSA_Last_Chance_State_Qualifier_meet_notice.doc) February 15-18 at CCBC.  Due to the very early deadline set by the host, all entries must be in the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm THURSDAY.  Remember, the coaching staff has asked that you or your swimmer talk to the coaches to determine which February meet to attend.  The Robert J Hogan Memorial Mini Meet (www.mdswim.org/Schedule/2008_Hogan_meet_notice_Final.doc), a meet that we host at Frederick High School February 2nd and 3rd, is open to ALL 10 and unders swimmers.  Entries, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by Saturday at 11:00 am.  On February 9th and 10th, ASC is hosting their invitational (www.mdswim.org/Schedule/ASC_Senior_Meet_2008_(2).doc) in Annapolis.  Entries for this meet, along with a check to cover the fees, are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm Monday, January 16th.

The Robert J. Hogan Memorial Mini Meet is fast approaching and preparation of the 2008 Meet program is underway. The Hogan meet is MAC’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with a significant portion of our club's operating budget relying upon its proceeds.  In addition, the profits help to keep our membership fees down as well as provide funding of pool maintenance and repair costs.  Please help MAC by purchasing an ad for your family, OR, by securing an ad from a local business.  An copy of the ad form is may be found here (www.macswim.net/files/fundraising_letterhead1.doc). Please contact Renee Hyrkas, rhyrkas@hyrk1.com with questions.

Also, in regard to this meet, be on the lookout for sign-up sheets for volunteer positions and concession donations.  We must have everyone's help in order to run a successful meet!
