April 28, 2008
This is the MAC News for Monday, April 28th.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed this weekend at the Naval Academy. A complete wrap-up will be posted here once the results are available.
Don't forget, the MAC Banquet is this Sunday, May 4th at 5:30 at Dutch's Daughter. Directions may be found here - www.dutchsdaughter.com/directions.html.
Please be aware that the summer trimester begins on May 1st (Thursday) and runs through the end of August. Bills will be coming out this week. If you are not planning to train with MAC over the summer, please contact our treasurer, Fred Manning, at email@example.com. If your child is in the water on May 1st, you will be responsible for the entire trimester's dues. The coaching staff highly encourages everyone to continue with the program through the summer!
The bubble will be coming down for the summer on Saturday, May 10th. We will need help from as many of our families as possible, especially our dads and older swimmers. There is prep work that needs to be completed prior to the lowering. If you are able to provide any assistance next Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, please contact Don Feinberg at 301-696-3484.
Here is another date for your calendar. May 20th will be the date for MAC team and swimmer photos. Roby's Photo Studio (who takes many of the area summer swim team photos) will be taking photos of training groups and individual swimmers. The packages are very reasonably priced and part of the cost of each package will be donated back to MAC. Specific times for each training group will be announced very soon.
On Saturday, May 31st MAC will be hosting a biathlon fund-raiser to raise awareness for cancer and to help support the Rossick family. All entries, along with the $30 registration fee, are due to Coach Lauren's folder by May 15th. The event is open to all MAC and Hood Hammerhead families, including parents and former swimmers!
The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:30, Senior White and Senior Prep from 5:45-8:00, and Age Group II from 6:00-8:00 all in the bubble. Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15. There is no practice today for Novice or Masters.
