Hood College has closed for the day due to the inclement weather

This is the MAC News for Friday, February 22nd.

Hood College has closed for the day due to the inclement weather, therefore, all practices for today are cancelled.  There will be an additional practice on Sunday from 10:30-12:00 for all swimmers attending the All-Star meet next weekend.

The entries, along with a check to cover the fees, for the Maryland Swimming Junior Championships ( www.cbacswimming.org/MeetAnnouncements/2008MDSwimmingJrChamps.htm), March 7-9 in St. Mary's that were due today should be turned in at your child's next practice.

At the monthly meeting of the MAC Board of Directors, it was decided that families with delinquent accounts (those who have not made at least 2 payments towards their Winter 2008 balance) will not be allowed to have their swimmers participate in future meets (including Maryland State Championships and Junior All Stars).  Statements were sent to all accounts via e-mail this week.  Severely delinquent accounts will result in swimmers not being allowed to participate in practice.  If your account is delinquent, please bring it current by MONDAY.  If you have any questions about your statement, have not received it, have a financial hardship, or would like to discuss your balance, please contact Fred Manning at fredmanning@comcast.net.

There will be some practice schedule changes for Age Group II next week due to the upcoming LSC Championships.  On Monday, practice will run from 6:00-7:40.  On Tuesday, practice will end at 7:30.  On Wednesday, Coach Jeb would like those participating in the meet to swim from 6:00-6:30.  Finally, on Thursday, practice will conclude at 7:00.

The Maryland LSC Championship meet (All-Stars) is hosted by the entire LSC and therefore each team is assigned volunteer positions for the duration of the meet.  This year MAC has been asked to provide at least 2 timers for EACH session of the meet (excluding Thursday night and 1650 as those swimmers must provide their own timers).  In addition, we must provide someone to post results for EACH of the finals sessions.  A sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board in the bubble this weekend.  As not every swimmer will attend the finals sessions, if you are fairly certain your child will be swimming (all relays are swum at the conclusion of finals) during finals, please fill those slots first.

The practice schedule for tomorrow is as follows - Senior Red and Black from 7:30-9:00, Senior White and Age Group II from 9:00-10:30, and Novice from 10:30-11:30 all in the bubble.  Age Group I will be in the indoor pool from 7:30-9:00.  Seniors will have morning practice on Monday from 5:15-6:30.
