SENIOR & AGE GROUP - TRAINING LOG BOOK
Over the Winter Break this year Coach Jennifer is having all VJO Seniors and Age Groupers keep a Training Log Book. She will be giving an extra credit practice day to those swimmers that keep track of all 14 days during this year’s 2 Weeks of Winter Training.
What is a Training Log?
A training log is a written record of your daily activities. It is a notebook where you write down the details of each workout and your nutrition. As you’ll see, the info collected in a training log varies greatly from athlete to athlete.
Why Keep a Training Log?
Training logs can do more than just provide motivation and accountability. Benefits from keeping a training log, include developing a better sense of how you spend your practice time, knowing where improvements are coming from, increasing your motivation to keep working, and heightening your awareness at practice and meets. Logging will take place both before and after each practice and before and after swim meets. Everyone has a different reason for keeping a swimming log, but they all boil down to the same basic idea: tracking progress.
