Thoughts and prayers to CAAT and Ben Gore's family

From Ken Spencer, Head Coach CAAT

It is with overwhelming shock and heavy heart that we share the news that Ben Gore is currently missing and presumed dead after a hiking accident Sunday evening near Colchuck Peak.  As Ben was descending the snow pack, he slipped into a hole and could not be found.  Search and Rescue teams could not locate Ben last night and continue the search today.

Ben is a much loved and highly respected member of the Senior Performance Group.  Ben has a such a free-spirited outlook on life and a positive, infectious attitude that make him a group favorite, amazing teammate, and a tremendous young man to work with.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ben’s family at this difficult time.

As coaches, we always try to leave our mark on young athletes so that they come away from the experience better people. When this kind of tragedy hits, I’m also reminded that these young athletes also leave their mark on us and their teammates. Ben’s mark is bright, and we are better having been touched by it.
