Swimmer with a Disability sets 2 American SCY records!
Haley Beranbaum, StingRay Swim Club set 2 American SCY records for swimmers with a disability at the January Challenge hosted by SSCD, January 15 &16, 2011. Swimming for StingRay since September 2009, as a little person (dwarfism), she was recently classified S5-SB5- SM5 in the Paralympics Classification system. This weekend Haley set records for her class in the 200 yard free (4:06.79; old record 4: 29.63) and the 50 yard Breaststroke (1:01.28; old record 1:07.30). These records need to be ratified by US Paralympics Swimming. Her next Paralympic competition will be the CAN-AM Paralympics Swimming Championships at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, April 2011.Congratulations to Haley and StingRay Swimming!
