Seattle Native Wins 200 M Breast at US Open

 BJ Johnson, graduate of Garfield High School and Stanford Univeristy, came from behind in the last length to win the 200 m breaststroke at the U.S. Open in Indianpolis, IN Wednesday evening with a time of 2:10.87. Johnson defeated Kevin Cordes (Univeristy of Arizona) who swam a 2:10.92. Johnson swims for Palo Alto Swim Club. BJ swam for Central Area Aquatic Team during his age group years.

Johnson's splits were 30.29; 1:03.73 (33.44); 1:37.21 (33.48), and 2:10.87 (33.66).

Johnson's best time before the U.S. Open was a 2:11.47 which he achieved at the Olympic Team Trials in June.
