PNS Records Continue to Fall at Champs - Day 2

Pacific Northwest Swimming athletes posted six more national top times on Day Two of cmpetition at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatics Center.

Twelve year old Zackary O'Haver of King Aquatic Club posted the fastest time in the country for his division in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.58. Teammate Thomas Anderson led off with a 21.17 in the 200 yard freestyle relay which is the fastest reported time in the country for 14 year old boys.

Bellevue Club Swim Team boys' 11-12 400 yard medley relay (William Zhou, Ivan Graham, Alex Elizarov, and Henry Lucco) set a new PNS record of 3:57.27. The previous mark of 4:01.21 was set by King Aquatic Club in the spring of 2012. The time ranks as the number one time in the nation this year as of December 6th... King Aquatic Club team of Cameron King, Drew Johnson, Michael Chwaluk, and Zackary O'Haver posted a time of 4:11.09 in the same event. That time ranks second in the nation... In the boys' 13-14 age group the King Aquatic Club team of Thomas, Anderson, Mitch Hovis, Dale Williams, and Josh Maclurg set a PNS record of 3:38.90. The previous mark of 3:40.32 was set in 2011. King's time ranks first in the country... In the same event, Bellevue Club Swim Team posted a time 3:45.00 which ranks fourth in the country. The team includes Dave Makhervaks, Ben Witty, Ryan Kinnear, and Aaron Elhajj... Wave Aquatics 11-12 girls posted a time 4:20.05 which presently ranks sixth in the country. Teammates include Sophia Hwang, Allie Macdonald, Gabby Dang, and Claire Wu... In th girls 13-14 age group, King Aquatic Club team of Gianna Haugen, Helen Teegan, Sami Robbins, and Angela Gagliardo posted a time of 4:02.62 which ranks seventh in the country...

In the 200 yard freestyle relay for boys' 11-12, Bellevue Club Swim Team posted the fastest time in the country with a time of 1:37.39. The time betters the PNS record of 1:40.14 set by Cascade Swim Club in 2004. Members of the record setting team include: Alex Elizarov, William Zhou, Henry Lucco, and Ivan Graham. The national record is 1:36.80... In the boys 13-14 division, the top two times recorded rank as number one and number two in the nation. Bellevue Club Swim Team's Dave Makhervaks, Dan Prang, Daniel Ryaboshapka, and Aaron Elhajj posted the winning time of 1:29.37 which is a new PNS record - The previous mark was 1:31.37 set by King Aquatic Club in the spring of 2012... Right behind was the King Aquatic Club foursome of Thomas Anderson, Josh Maclurg, Dale Williams, and Kevin Dang with a time of 1:29.54...Bellevue Club Swim Team's girls 13-14 posted a time 1:39.57 which ranks seventh in the country. Teammates include: Elisa Fang, Kennedy Elhajj, Kathy Lin, and Marley Cross...King Aquatic Club's girls 13-14 (Helen Teegan, Angela Gagliardo, Laycee Simpson, Gianna Haugen) posted a time of 1:39.61 which is ninth fastest in the country

National Top Ten performances include: Isabel Chien (KING-11) 4th 50 yard butterfly; Gabby Dang (WAVE-12) 4th 50 yard butterfly; 8th 100 yard freestyle; Vlad Elizarov (BC-11) 6th 50 yard butterfly; Alex Elizarov (BC-12) 9th 50 yard butterfly; Delora Li (PDST-11) 4th 200 yard breaststroke; 3rd 200 yard individual medley; Jonathan Cook (WEST-12) 5th 200 yard breaststroke; Mitch Hovis (KING-13) 5th 200 yard breaststroke; Thomas Anderson (KING-14) 3rd 200 yard breaststroke; 3rd 100 yard freestyle; Lia Campbell (BISC-13) 2nd 100 yard freestyle; Bindi Pedersen (MMSC-12) 9th 200 yard individual medley; Ivan Graham (BC-12) 10th 200 yard individual medley; Ryan Kinnear (BC-13) 9th 200 yard individual medley; Aaron Elhajj (BC-14) 7th 200 yard individual medley.
