Team End of Season Banquet:

The Team Banquet is on March 11th.  Seniors, please finish your Memory Boards which are usually 16 x 20 photo collages that will be displayed in the lobby at Yankee Trace during the banquet.  Seniors, please arrive a few minutes early to set up the Memory Boards.

State Meet Results:

Swimming:

The CHS Swim and Dive Team finished strong at the State Meet in Canton – with some fast races this weekend!

The Girls placed 3rd overall up 3 places from last year!

Lady Elks that made it to the podium at finals were:

Nora Fullenkamp (SO):   State Runner-up 50 Free; 6th 100 Free

Emma King (SR):     5th in the 200 Free and 6th in the 500 Free

Grace Hoffmann (SR):   8th in the 100 Back

200 Free Relay placed 7th:  Nora Fullenkamp, Emma King, Grace Hoffmann and Nicole Swartz (SR)

400 Free Relay placed 3rd breaking the school record again:  Fullenkamp, King, Swartz and Hoffmann

Consolation heat placing:

Grace Hoffmann:     16th in the 200 IM

Nicole Swartz:       12th 200 Free; 9th 500 Free

The Boy’s Swim Team also had a great meet and finished 8th overall up 2 places from last year! 

Elks that made it to the podium at finals were:

Dylan Curtis (JR):    3rd 100 Back – breaking the school record again!

Chris Quarin (JR):    7th 100 Fly;  3rd 100 Breast (broke school record again in prelims)

Consolation Heat placing:

Dylan Curtis:               13th 100 Free              

Nathaniel Lowry (SR): 16th 100 Breast

200 Medley Relay placed 9th:  Dylan Curtis, Nathaniel Lowry, Chris Quarin and Austin Spruill (JR)

200 Free Relay placed 14th :  Curtis, Quarin, Lowry, Spruill

Diving

This past week the Dive team headed to Canton Ohio for the State Dive Meet. Both the Girls and Boys dove against the top 24 divers for Ohio,  surviving 11 dives and 2 rounds of cuts.

Senior Katie Polk is your 1st place winner and the STATE CHAMPION for Division 1 Diving scoring 524.95. Katie held onto the lead in a highly contested battle between 24 divers and most notably edging out two divers from Columbus that are on the USA World Dive Team. Her teammate, Senior Maddy Woods also made the podium and had a fantastic finish  in 7th place with a score of 468.15. Both of these scores for  Polk and Woods are their personal bests competing at the Ohio State Meet. (Polk still holds the CHS 11 dive record of 525.40)

The boys had a similar showing. Senior Noah HIckey finished up in 3rd place scoring 523.40, his personal best at the Ohio State Dive Meet and broke the 11 dive Centerville High School record. He is now ranked 13th in the State for all time performanceHis teammates, Sam Wiedemann finsished up on 12th and Austin Flaute took 14th.

For Katie Polk, Maddie Woods and Noah Hickey, they are now in the Record Book for All Time Ohio High School State Meet Performers. They are listed on the Honor Roll for Ohio High School State Meet Perfomers. Katie Polk is now listed as #2 in the Record Book with her 1st place performance this year, Maddy Woods is in the record books as number #17 for all time State performance and Noah Hickey is now listed as #13 in the Record Book. Way to go Elks and to the Seniors, Katie Polk, Maddy Woods and Noah Hickey way to finish up your Senior Year!
