2010 Texas SR Circuit Meet

“The Stars are Bright and Big at Night….Deep in the Heart of Texas” What a great time we had at the Senior Circuit meet in

College Station Texas this past weekend.  11 swimmers spent 4 days on the Texas AM campus competing against some of the best swimmers from around the country.  College Team Heavy Weights Long Horn Aquatics ( University of Texas ), Aggie Swim Club ( Texas AM), and the Dallas Mustangs (SMU) were all in attendance with their stable of college & professional swimmers.  Also top Texas club teams like The Fleet and North Texas Natadores competed. And our neighbors KING made the trip as well.

The meet’s qualification standards were tough, so with that level of athlete the meet became both deep and fast.  In order to make finals, there really was no room for error as the difference between swimming in finals and watching it was miniscule.

I’m happy to say that even with the small number of swimmers we brought we were still able to place 11th over all.  And all 11 swimmers placed in the top 24 in at least 1 individual event.

Matthew Wiens – 15th 400 Free, 15th 200 Fly, 15th 1500 Free

Andy Wingerson – 16th 100 Back, 24th 200 IM

I do want to thank Jill O'Keefe and Linda Stanchi for helping out.  Both were instrumental in making this meet a success and I would have really struggled without them.
