Cost and practice times: All swimmers wishing to join Swim Neptune will need to complete both the USA Swimming Registration as well as pay the Annual Fee. Both of these fees combined are good through December 31, 2010, and are $110 per swimmer ($58 USA and $52 Annual Fee). These fees are in addition to monthly dues which vary by the group.

Fees are generated on a monthly basis so swimmers are welcome to join at any time. Cancelation will require a 30 day written (or via email) notice for cancelation of dues posted to our online team program.

Practiuce times and availability may change (especially through November and December) please contact us before coming out for a visit!

Yellow: (Coach Mary Smith)

These are our introductory swimmers, brand new little ones to swimming, working with Coach Mary in a swim lessons style program. We recommend choosing one practice per week.

Typical schedule beginning in November 2009; Wednesday 4:00 PM, Thursday 7:00 PM, Friday 5:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM 

Green: (Coach Mary Smith)

Are our youngest groups swimming at Foothills and are designed for swimmers ages 4 to 8 who are joining swimming for the first time or have recently graduated from a swim lessons program. Here Coach Mary works on skills to complete freestyle and backstroke and introduces breaststroke and butterfly. Placement is determined by Coach Mary during your first week of practices.
We recommend 1-2 practices per week.

White and Royal: (Coaches Melissa Mehaffey, LiAnne Choitz)

Is our developmental program which includes swimmers from age 7 through 16 (White 7-11; Royal 12-16). Here swimmers can begin to develop the competitive strokes further and begin competing more regularly! A lot of emphasis is given to technique as well as developing further endurance needed to build competitive skills! Emphasis in Royal is building swimming skill and experience and preparing new swimmers for high school swimming!
 We recommend 2-3 practices per week.

Black: (Coaches Sam Kramer)

Is the step before heading into the High School or Blue groups. Emphasis here is placed on furthering development of competitive skills, building further endurance and striving toward those Arizona State Qualifying Standards. Much time is dedicated to advanced stroke development and personal race and skill strategies.
We recommend 3-4 practices per week.

Typical Schedule beginning November 2009: Tuesday 4:00 PM, Wednesday 7:00 PM, Thursday 4:00 PM, Friday 4:30 PM, Saturday 12:00 PM

Blue : (Coach Sam Kramer)

11/12-14 year old swimmers looking to be more committed to swimming and competing in swimming. 80% Attendance per month (of scheduled practices) is expected and a ttendance to competitions available to you at your level of competition as decided with the coaches. We recommend 4-5 practices per week.

Typical schedule beginning November 2009: Monday 7:30 PM, Tuesday 3:30 PM, Wednesday 3:30 PM, Friday 4:00 PM, Saturday 11:30 AM

High School : (Coaches Sam Kramer and Juan Llaneras)

High School aged athletes looking to stay in shape and advance technique during the off-season. There is no attendance requirement and no competition requirement in this group.

Typical Schedule beginning November 2009: Monday 7:30 PM, Wednesday 7:30 PM, Thursday 3:30 PM, Saturday 11:30 AM

As time progresses each swimmer will have the opportunity to decide with their coaches to move upward and forward into the Senior Team from either High School or Gold Groups. Senior Team is open to swimmers at the coach’s discretion.

Senior : (Coach Mike Wardwell)

Open to swimmers committed to a national level regimen. Here coaches will work with athletes to move through the national level and help students achieve college level opportunities. 85% attendance per month to scheduled practices is expected and r egular attendance to in town competition (travel available as well) should be planned for. Swimmers in this group do not train at Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center.

Attendance to all championship meets qualified for is mandatory (including Senior State for all)

Masters (Coach Juan Llaneras)

This is the group for our adults who still want to be a part of the swimming community, train for triathlons, or just look for some group training and fitness. This is a swim group, but we can serve all levels of swimmer. Please contact coachsamk@gmail.com for more information! This group requires a registration that varies slightly from the age group program registrations, please ask Coach Sam for more information.

You are welcome to come by any practice to try out the team. We are always open to welcoming new swimmers on deck! Please contact Coach Sam at coachsamk@gmail.com before you come by to confirm the practice time for that day.

 

Foothills Rules and Code of Conduct Reminders

1.  Please note that unless you are a member of the facility you CAN NOT use any portion of the facility other than the lobby areas at any time. Neptune members can use the pool only with a coach present during the reserved Neptune time.

2. Turtle Club is available for Neptune use without incurring additional fees ONLY on Fridays from 4:30-7:00 PM when Neptune has schedueld practices.

3. Each and every swimmer MUST be able to present their USA Swimming membership card (don’t stress if you don’t have one) and sign in within the NEPTUNE binder at the desk daily. Parents please sign in within the "special interest" binder (or clipboard) daily or scan your passholder card if you are active paying members.

4. If you have children of the opposite gender you need to assist with changing before and after practice please utilize the family changing rooms instead of the locker room. This is especially true for children over age 6.

5. No children under the age of 8 may be a spectator on the deck of the facility. All children under the age of 8 must view the practices from inside the facility in the cafe area (tables and chairs available).

6. There is NO food or drink of any kind other than water allowed in the pool area except in the cafe when open and available. This is true for swimmers, parents, siblings and any other spectators.

7. Parents and spectators must sit in the designated areas on the deck. This includes the bleachers and the ground immediately in front of the bleachers. You can not bring folding charis of any kind out on the deck with you. Swimming has 2 sets of bleachers by our start end and diving has 2 sets of bleachers near the diving well provided for spectators. The cafe area may also be utilized on Friday evenings.
