The Victoria Academy of Swimming was formed on April 1, 2009 and is a partnership between Island Swimming, Swimming Canada and Canadian Sport Centre Pacific.  The academy combines high performance with development programs and allows international level coaches and athletes to guide the development of up-and-coming athletes.

The academy is lead by Olympic and World Team Coach, Randy Bennett and acts as a complimentary counterpart to the National Swim Centre in Vancouver.  Here at the Victoria Academy of Swimming, you will find swimmers like 2008 Olympic Medallist, Ryan Cochrane, World Record Holder Stefan Hirniak and Olympians Alexa Komarnycky and Julia Wilkinson training alongside some of Island Swimming’s up and coming, future Olympians.
