The Auroras’
Wildrose program is for children that have learned basic
synchronized swimming skills. (Wildrose is the
province-wide synchronized swimming competitive program, where
swimmers are categorized in tiers, from 1 to 5. Wildrose swimmers
may participate in local,
provincial, and regional competitions.) With a focus on further developing skills from the
FUNdamentals program, swimmers learn synchro-specific skills,
including flexibility, strength, and speed
development. Typically
swimmers are 8 to 14 years old.
Training hours increase as tier
levels increase. At the end of each season and the beginning of the
new season the swimmers may be tested (at the coaches discretion)
to determine an appropriate tier level. For example, the Auroras
offer tier testing camps in June. Testing also takes place in the
fall.
As well as fees, this program has
other requirements:
• bingo requirement
• volunteering commitment
• fundraising commitment
• wardrobe merchandise
• deposits -- all deposits are required at the time of
registration by way of undated cheques

Tier 1 at Kinsmen Sports Centre:
September 2009 to June
2010
Tuesdays 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
and
Saturdays 8 to 11:30 a.m.
(5.5 hours per week)
$1,000 training fee ($100 for 10 payments) plus $125
registration fee
For tier 1 the registration fee and 1/10 of the training fee is
required at the time of registration. The balance of
the training fee is due over 9 monthly payments commencing in
September.
Actual hours and practice times may vary slightly over the
season.
Tier 1 at Fountain Park Pool in
St. Albert on Wednesdays:
September 2009 to June 2010
Wednesdays 5 to 7 p.m. -- at Fountain Park
Pool and
Saturdays 8 to 11:30 a.m. -- at Kinsmen Sports
Centre
(5.5
hours per week)
$1,000 training fee ($100 for 10
payments) plus $125 registration fee

$1,400 training fee ($140 for 10 payments) plus
$125 registration fee
For tiers 2, 3, 4, and 5 the registration fee and 1/10 of the
training fee is required at the time of registration. The
balance of the team fee is due over 9 monthly payments commencing
in September.

Tier 3:
Kinsmen Sports Centre

$1,900 training fee ($190 for 10 payments) plus

All of our coaches have the minimum certification level required by
Synchro Alberta. Also all of our coaches have competed at the
national level. Most of our coaches have participated on provincial
teams with some of our coaches having previous National Team
experience.

a world-class facility
Kinsmen Sport Centre is recognized as one of the best facilities in
Canada to train in. There are 2-50m competition pools as well
as a dive tank. For dry land training there are 2 weight
rooms and a track. Kinsmen is located in the river valley which
allows easy access to running trails.

synchronized swimming
The Auroras have a long-standing history of being a successful at
all levels. Our swimmers place consistently in the top six in
figures, team, solos, and duets. They participate on Provincial
Teams and are the only athletes in the city to participate at
National Team Trials.

The Auroras have been to many places for training and competitions.
