Over 40 years of swimming excellence

The Blue Fins STROKES program focuses on the proper development of athletes from a young age. All of our coaches follow the Long Term Athlete Development Strategy, with the hopes that our young athletes continue on in this sport until past highschool, or even into adulthood, as many of our coaching staff have done. We strive to remove barriers that may impact peoples ability to participate in swimming in order to allow all who enter this program to meet this goal. Our program focuses on personal bests in both swimming, and everyday life, supporting our athletes mental, emotional, and social well-being.
STROKES not only focuses on creating a program that meets the LTADS, but also training of our junior coaches, both paid and volunteer to deliver quality sport and recreation programming. We currently use a mentorship program in Mini Fins to Squad 2 where we use our Senior Athletes as Junior Coaches to mentor our younger swimmers. These mentors provide a motivating environment for children to build self-confidence in their swimming ability. The mentors lead by example, and be a role model both in and out of the water.
We are currently working on gaining more feedback on how we are doing as a program. Please make sure to hand in your form at the pool so that your voice is heard. We plan on using this information to help make our program even stronger in the future.
