What are the age levels for this
group?
|
Ages 10-14
years old. Exceptions will be considered by the Head Age
Group Coach.

How often should my swimmer come to
practice?
|
(8) practices
are offered per week. A minimum of (6) practices are
highly suggested.
|

What is the groups practice
length?
|
(1.75) hours
in length with an additional (30) minutes of dryland training three
times a week .
|
|
How long does the season
last?
|
Short course
season (25 yards) is September through March. Long
course season (50 meter) runs from April through the end of
July.
|
|
What is the daily yardage? / How much are they
swimming?
|
Daily yardage
averages between 4,000-6,000 yards/meters per workout with an
additional 2,000-3,000 on double days.

Does this group need double or weekend
practices?
|
Yes.
Depending upon age and ability level. Saturday practice
is strongly recommended. Double practices are
important for certain individuals looking to attain high
levels of achievement.

What are the group’s basic
goals?
|
To
perform at the highest level of competition within the age
group/senior circuit. Stroke technique and high levels of
aerobic, anaerobic, and speed training.

Can you tell me some areas of
development?
|
Stroke
technique. Strength training. Swim training and
mental race rehearsal.
|
|
What is the level of
meets?
|
Intermediate
level meets through the highest level of age group competition
(Southeastern Championships & Age Group
Sectionals).
