2009/2010 CAT POLICIES

1)       REGISTRATION & MEMBER ACCOUNTS

All tryouts take place every week on Monday at 6:30pm. The coach will assess your swimmer and place them in the group that best fits their abilities. Swimmers will have until Friday of that week to try practicing with the team. All registration forms must be completed including all payments & fees by that Friday in order for the swimmer to continue practice the following Monday. No exceptions.

In order to participate at practice you must have an active account with CAT in Team Unify. This will be set up for you as soon as your application is approved.

o        Note: If you are a returning member and your account has been inactive, you must come into the office to re-activate your account. This may include a re-activation fee. Your balance must be current and these fees must be paid before your swimmer is allowed to participate.

Understand that all communications are sent via EMAIL. This includes important updates, schedule changes, and meet information. We will get notifications to you in a timely fashion so you may make necessary arrangements.

o        If you do not have frequent access to email it is your responsibility to call or come into the office to make sure you are up to date on all of the necessary information.

NOTE** Once your registration is approved and/or your account is active - you will receive a password via email that is necessary to log ono to the website powered by Team Unify. If you have questions about your account status or have not received notification, please call the office 727-791-9542 or email catmanager@tampabay.rr.com.

2)       GROUP STRUCTURE & ASSIGNMENTS

Coaches will place your swimmer in assigned groups based on a number of different qualifications. Please trust that the coaches have a very good understanding which group will best fit the swimmer.

At the start of this new season the coaches will be re-evaluating all swimmers in order to make sure they are training at their proper level. Each level will require specific criteria, designed by the coaches, before the swimmer is placed in their designated group.

If you are concerned about how your child is doing in practice please schedule a meeting through the office so that you may speak with the coach during non-practice hours.

3)       DECK POLICY

CAT is now enforcing a “No Parents on Deck” policy. If you are staying for the duration of the practice time we ask that you please drop your child off and observe from the upstairs bleachers. This includes dryland times as well.

o        Coaches reserve the right to invite you on deck if they need to speak with you for any number of reasons.

o        This policy is set in place to ensure that the coach/swimmer relationships are independently developed without any outside distraction.

o        Please understand that we have the swimmer’s best interest in mind. We are here to establish an environment in which your child has every opportunity to evolve as a student-athlete, team member, and person.

o        Everybody is welcome in the office at any time to schedule appointments with coaches or to ask any administrative questions. You may also email the coaches anytime. Email addresses for all staff members can be found on our website.

4)       CITY DECK POLICY- If you would like to use the facilities “outside” of designated CAT practice hours, the city requires that you pay the daily admission fee.    SEE  CITY FEE STRUCTURE.

The city has been very helpful and accommodating to CAT. It is imperative that our members adhere to this policy and respect these fees as we do not want this to reflect negatively on our team.

o        Note: Recreation Cards allow for participants to pay resident rates for facility classes and programs. They do not allow FREE use of the facility outside of these programs, daily admissions apply.

5)    VOLUNTEER HOURS: In order for CAT to operate successfully, we rely heavily on volunteers for swim meets, fundraising, and other fun team events. This requires attention on every family’s end!

We require each family to work 4-7 sessions during each meet that CAT hosts (whether your child is swimming or not) or you will be billed $25 for every session not worked.
