LINDA FRAZIER BLAND compete at the Little Rock Boys Club and at the Little Rock Racquet Club Dolphins, where at 14 she became the youngest swimmer from Arkansas to compete at the AAU Nationals. At 15, she was 8th in the nation in the 1650 freestyle, and ranked 10th in the world in the 800 and 1500 meter freestyle. In 1973, she was the first woman to win the Worthen Bank Award. She was named Arkansas Athlete of the Year by Chevrolet in 1973. She competed for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1975. She and her husband Jeff, live in Little Rock with their daughters Elizabeth and Michele.
