Wes swam competitively for the Little Rock Boy’s Club, Hall High School, and the United States Military Academy of West Point. He helped coach the West Point team and helped run the 1972 MCAA Championships. He competed in post championship meets and won the Iron Horse Award. He is still competing winning the 50-meter Fly at the NARTO meet two years ago. General Clark was the Supreme Allied Commander for Europe from July 1997-May 2000. He was also the Commander in chief of the United States European Command. Among his Military decorations are the Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards), Distinguished Service Awards (two awards), Silver Star, Legion of Merit (four awards), Bronze Star Medal (two awards), and NATO Medal for service in relation to Kosovo, NATO Medal for service with NATO on operation in relation to the former republic of Yugoslavia. He is still swimming a mile or so every morning.
