Mission Statement
Gulf Coast
Swim Team was formed on September 1, 1998 with a goal of
producing national level swimmers from age-group to senior aged
swimmers. Our coaches are certified USA Swimming coach members
and teach swimmers all components of competitive swimming. Not only
do we train our swimmers to excel in the pool, but also to excel in
the classroom and as citizens of our
community.
Club Goals
Gulf
Coast Swim Team’s goals are to lead our swimmers to
the highest level possible through training and proper stroke
instruction. GCST has a history of developing top level age-group
athletes throughout our young history. We have had many swimmers on
the NAG Top 16 lists as well as National Junior Team and Select
Camps. Furthermore, we have had athletes attend the Regional
Distance Camps. We are focused as coaches on getting our
athletes to the highest national or international levels as
possible. GCST has many non-athlete members that serve as
volunteer officials in Florida Swimming Area 5, and we actively
recruit more from hosting clinics at our hosted
meets.
Club Funding
GCST is run
by Southwest
Florida
Swim Club, Inc. which is a 501 C 3 non
profit corporation also registered in the State of
Florida
. Our funding is provided through
program fees, donations, fundraising efforts, and hosted meet
income. All fundraising efforts directly benefit our
swimmers.
Club Achievements
GCST was
awarded in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, as a USA Swimming Silver
Medal Club in the Club Excellence Program based on our athletes
performance in the pool and our club’s performance in the
community and swimming world. We are a Level 3 club in the USA
Swimming Club Recognition Program based on how our
club operates....
