Please be at the pool for warm-ups 30 minutes prior to meet start.  On Weds. meet days, there will be no Stingray group classes in the morning or the afternoon.

 

The last day of the program, Thursday, July 24, we will have an end-of-season swim party.  We will have treats and fun games for the kids, a really great way to wrap up the summer.  The coaches will also break up into groups with their swimmers to give out awards and say goodbye.  Again, swimmers wanting to continue past the summer can find out how by going to the team website under Membership Info.

 

How do the swim meets work?
 

All swimmers need to be at the pool, ready to get in for warm-up, at least 30 minutes prior to the meet’s scheduled start time. The kids can swim any events that they wish, but their coaches will help them to choose the most appropriate events. Typically there are 25 yard events of each stroke for the 10 and unders, and 50 yard events for the 11 and older swimmers. There are ribbons for all competitors, and the kids swim against kids in their same age and gender groups (6 and under 25 free for boys, 9-10 girls 25 butterfly, etc.).  Meets last about two hours on average.
 
 
What volunteers are needed for the meets?
 
In order for the meets to run smoothly, we need to have:       
  • 16 parents, 2 per lane, to hand out ribbons and time each event.
  • Two parents to run a concession (all profits will be put directly back into our Stingrays program). To volunteer to help with concessions, please contact billing@seminoleaquatics.org.
  • Two or three parents to help organize our kids on the pool deck and keep them informed about the upcoming events.
Additionally, we ask each family to bring a six pack of bottled water, Coke, Diet Coke, or Gatorade to the pool office for sale in the concessions. If any parents have connections to a local grocery store or restaurant that would be interested in donating any food items for us to sell at meets, it would greatly be appreciated.
