This is our more novice group, swimmers do many drills to learn the proper stroke technique as well as gaining endurance and strength.  All ages at this level, we attempt to promote swimmers to the main age group level when ready.  Stingrays 1

Douglas County Stingrays is an introductory competitive group with emphasis placed on stroke technique through the use of drills.  Swimmer will be introduced to all four strokes:  freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke, and fly.  This group will provide swimmers with an opportunity to compete in fun, low intensity swimming competitions.  Stingrays 1 are encouraged to attend  two to three practices a week.

AGE GROUP 1, AGE GROUP 2 and Senior:  (ages 7-18) $65.00

monday-thursday 5-7, plus additonal scheduled friday/saturday practices ( 3 practices a week are encouraged for proper progress) meets opportunities are offered 2-3 times a month, they are not mandatory, however for proper evaluation of progress at least one meet participation every 2 months is encouraged.

We have currently grouped all of our age group 1 and 2 along with senior grouppractice together in one group as they all pay the same monthly fee at this time. Although they currently swim at the same time the workouts are differentiated by abilities and swimmers swim in assigned lanes.

The Douglas County Stingrays Age Group 2 and Senior are the top competitive groups.  Stroke technique and endurance training are shared with equal emphasis.  Race strategy becomes more important in this group while mental skills and dry land training are introduced.  AGE GROUP 2 and SENIOR swimmers are encouraged to attend three to five practices a week.  Older more advanced swimmers are encouraged to make all the offered practices.
