I’ve been associated with TTST since 2005. In 2007, I began serving as the TTST web master and special events co-coordinator. Most recently, I took the position of Vice President of the TTST Board. I help out with FUNd Raising and Advertising our Texas Terrapins Swim Team.  I’m always open to new and exciting ways to get our name out in the surrounding communities. I share the goal of our TTST Board to strive for excellence while maintaining our family friendly environment. My son, Derek, swims in our TTST Gold Group and is a Cypress Ranch High School Varsity Swimmer.

My family has been a part of the Texas Terapins family for over a  year. Before that we were with Katy Aquatics. My son Byron (nicknamed B-Ry by Coach Jason) is now seven and has been swimming competitively since he was four. My Daughter Maya has just joined the Blue Group on the team and might end up being part of the competitive meets during the year. As for me, I enjoy being part of a team that is both family oriented as well as competitive and it is a thrill to attend the meets and watch our team swim. During the day I work for corporate aviation corporation in central Houston as their Art Director and Tradeshow Specialist and at night I work as the Web Master for the team. I love working on things that help advance the teams future and like I always say, "I do it for the kids".

Elisia is the mother of a two swimmers, Jackson and Olivia. One is a teal swimmer and the other a jump start to summer league. They were first introduced to swim team in the summer of 2008 with the Fairfield Dolphins. Her son wanted to continue swimming after summer league was over so in December 2008 they joined TTST. Swimming has become a large and enjoyable part of their family’s lives. Because of this, volunteering and being involved with the Terrapins was the next logical step for her. She looks forward to helping the team grow. She and husband Scott both enjoy being involved in the community and with their children’s activities. Outside of swim team, Elisia is the Controller of one of Houston’s top accounting firms.

My daughter, Hayley, has been swimming with the Texas Terrapins since the fall of 2008.  She had just finished her first summer with the Mako Sharks and could not wait to get back in the water.  After one year with TTST, her next summer with the Bridgeland Barracudas was even more rewarding.  The skills she developed over the year really helped her performance and her confidence in the water.  As a parent, I am thrilled that she has found a sport that she has fun with and looks forward to practice.  I have recently joined  TTST as the Bookkeeper/Registrar and look forward to being more involved with our Terrapin Families.  In addition to my responsibilities for TTST, I am the bookkeeper for my husband’s business, serve as the Clinic Chair for Warner Elementary, and I am a Consultant for Southern Living at Home.

The Texas Terrapins has been a part of our family since October of 2006. Delaney, aka D-Lanes, boldly stated just before she turned 5 that she wanted to be, “A Swim Girl”. Growing up as a swimmer myself I knew I had to find the perfect team for her. I found out about the Terrapins and we have been together ever since. In and Out of the pool the Coaches and team have been a great influence on Delaney. That is the best thing we could ever hope for.  Even our son that plays other sports has been welcomed open armed, and has always been made to feel part of the team. You just do not see that these days, and that is thanks to our wonderful Coach Jason and Meagan, as well as, the families of all the swimmers. Therefore, I decided that I wanted to give back to our second family that has helped enrich our daughter’s life.

I have been fortunate to be able to assist the Terrapins as the Attendance Coordinator. My job consists of taking attendance weekly for each swimmer by practice group. In doing so we are able to reward those swimmers with a monthly perfect attendance gift for their hard work and commitment to themselves and the team. You would be surprised how much fun all ages of swimmers have digging in the award box for that one special item. Maybe they saw it last month and chose something else, or maybe they saw someone else pick it before them and decided they needed to have it. Even our older swimmers are anxious to get their turn and see what fun and exciting item will be theirs for their hard work. We also use this information to award the swimmers with perfect attendance of the Short Course season at our Team Banquet. We believe that the hard work and dedication of the swimmers is important to recognize, and by doing this they hopeful receive the feeling of support by the  team to keep their enthusiasm up.

I am not only an Attendance Coordinator and Mom I also work fulltime for Mustang Engineering as a Buyer.

My daughter, Makenna, joined the Terrapins in the fall of 2008 after two seasons swimming summer league. I heartily agreed to be Team Admin when approached because I want to be a part of the team that my daughter loves. It is important for me that she sees me taking interest in her interests. Not being a swimmer myself, I have learned right along with her about the sport. I absolutely love the excitement of swim meets. Swimming is such a fabulous team and individual sport! I love that accomplishments can be measured every meet, regardless of final standings.

In my pre-mom life, I worked as a biomedical engineer in orthopedic surgery. I still work part time but most of my time is spent with my kids. Of course, once a nerd always a nerd, I enjoy making spreadsheets and graphs of Makenna’s swim times. They certainly show how much she has improved under the direction of our Terrapin coaches!
