FAQ'S

Commonly asked questions about meets:

What time do I have to have my child at a swim meet? If your child is swimming the morning session you will need to have him/her there in time for warm-ups – typically about 7:00 am. Warm-ups for the afternoon session typically start about 11:00 am. This warm-up time will be listed on our website prior to the meet. Warm-ups usually last about one hour and then the meet will start.

What is positive check-in? When your child arrives for warm- ups there will be a table close to the front door with the names of each child. Your child will highlight his/her name so that the team running the meet will know who is there. If your child does not do this they run the risk of not being able to swim in the meet.

Can I go down to talk to my child or the coaches on deck? No, for liablilty reasons no parents are allowed on deck. If you need to communicate with your child please make plans for them to come to talk with you in the stands. Alternately, you could ask another alligator swimmer to ask your swimmer to come to you.

Can I send food with my child? Yes, your child can take food/drink on deck, however, please instruct them to clean up after themselves.

I hear a lot about parent timing at the meets. Do I have to time? Yes, every family has the obligation to time if their child is entered in a meet. It is very easy and not something to be feared!
