Alligator Training Levels
Green Gators
These swimmers are age 8 & under (and also 9 year olds that
are new to competitive swimming). Practices will be 80% stroke
correction and 20% training. Attending the Alligator meets is all
that is expected however they will have options at beginning level
meets. Two practices a week is recommended.
Silver
Gators
Swimmers ages 9 & 10 (and 11 year olds that are new to
competitive swimming) are in this group. Practices will be between
40% and 60% training and 40% to 60% stroke corrections depending on
the swimmers’ ability. Attending the Alligators meets is
expected along with the other conference meets that fit their
abilities. Three practices a week is recommended.
Gold Gators
This group is for swimmers ages 11 & 12 (and 13 year olds that
are new to competitive swimming). The focus in practice will be
20%-40% stroke correction and 60%-80% training. This level is
expected to attend as many meets as possible. Three to five
practices a week is recommended.
Blue
Gators
This group is for swimmers ages 13-18 (and 12 year olds that have
a minimum of three A times). The focus in this group is to train
the higher level swimmer to prepare for the Black group and to
condition/train the high school swimmer in their off season.
Attendance at three to five practices a week is expected.
Black
Gators
This group is for swimmers ages 14 and over. This group trains at
the highest level and is open only to those who have a minimum of 2
A times. This group is ideal for the returning college swimmers
that cannot fulfill the Xtreme commitment. A minimum of 5 practices
per week are required.
Xtreme
Gators
This level is an invitation only training group. It is available
to those personally invited or approved by the Head Coach only.
There is a significant coach/athlete commitment which includes
behaviors in and out of the water. For more information, please
