Senior Swim Team



Discipline Group

 This group is designed for those swimmers who have a solid understanding of the four competitive strokes and are ready to begin a more involved conditioning program.  The importance of proper stroke technique is stressed; however, several sessions per week will offer challenging training sets.  Swimmers have increased demands in workout distances and intensity as well as a commitment to attend these workouts.  This group is geared toward 14 and unders who wish to focus their major athletic attention on swimming.  Workouts are mandatory Monday-Saturday for the Discipline group as is attendance at all local swim meets and sea swims.  Swimmers are also strongly encouraged to attend as many appropriate-level overseas meets as is possible.

Monday                  5:45 - 7:15am

Tuesday                 4:00 - 6:15pm

Wednesday           5:45 – 7:15am

Thursday               4:00 - 6:00pm

Friday                    3:30 – 5:30pm

Saturday                7:15 – 9:15am

Dedication Group

 The Dedication Group consists of swimmers that exhibit a high level of swimming and workout ability.  These swimmers are expected to be mature, dedicated, responsible, and dependable.  The swimmers are well versed in technique and strategy.  They are also a full-fledged training group.  Generally, they have a skill level commensurate with the USS “A” to “AAA” Motivational Time Standards.  This group is a preparation to the Commitment group.  Stroke mechanics are refined and conditioning levels are increased to prepare swimmers for future training.   Swimmers are expected to start to train double sessions year round and attend all sessions each week.  Training sessions take place Monday-Friday afternoons, and Saturday morning as well as other selected mornings throughout the week.

Commitment Group

 The Commitment Group consists of those swimmers who have demonstrated a skill level commensurate with that needed to compete at a high level.   Year-round, these athletes will train   8-10 workouts a week.  These swimmers are willing to train at a 100% attendance level and compete at the national and international levels.  This group is for the swimmers who have specific achievement goals and have made a commitment to train in order to accomplish those goals.  As our more advanced swimmers increase their commitment to swimming, we insist that they also maintain academic excellence.  Seasonal meet schedules and training schedules must be followed.  Training session attendance is mandatory.
