50 Freeze -
November 15
Congrats to the
92 CWAC swimmers who participated in the 50 Freeze this past
weekend at Fenwick High School. CWAC took first place in the
meet for the first time and won both the boys and girls
meet. Congrats to
Jaime Juarez (100 fly) and Danielle Mantich (100 back) who set new
team records. New State times were achieved by
Lillian Hua and Nina Mantich. New Regional times were
achieved by Kevin Barth, Paul Bouschlicher, Emily Erickson, Justin
Fernandez, Brianna Gist, Cody Meuris and Aaron
Payne.
Individual event
winners include: Mark
Alvarado, Michael Charysh, Eva Fernandez, Lillian Hua, Jaime
Juarez, Danielle Mantich, Nina Mantich, Sara Mantich and Chris

Joliet Jets
Ghostly Gathering - October 24-25
Congrats to the
94 CWAC swimmers who participated in the Ghostly Gathering at UIC
this past weekend. This was the first big ISI meet of
the season and the Wolfpack were out in force taking second place
as a team and finishing second in both the girls and boys
standings. Congrats
to Yuyu Kathahira who set new 8&U girls record in the 200
IM. New State times were achieved by Marysol Arce, Natalie
Tapia and Mark Wilcoxen. New Regional times were achieved by
Brayden Amendola, Nader Ammar, Marysol Arce, Justin Fernandez,
Gunnar Glaab, Sara Mantich, Cody Meuris, Evan O’Donnell,
Aaron Payne, Alexis Porter, Adam Ruiz, Mark Wilcoxen and Kelvin
Xie.
The Wolfpack won

Mundelein - CWAC Tri-Meet - October
18
Congrats to the
28 CWAC swimmers who participated in the tri-meet on Sunday at
Deerfield High School. This was a great way for our swimmer
to prepare for the upcoming
ISI meets and race against some different competition.
Congrats to Christopher Schuering who set new 6&U boys records
in the 25 free and 100 IM. Event winners include: Mateo Chavez,
Mossimo Chavez, William Christy, Matthew Fernandez,
Lillian Hua, Tadzio Kurka, Molly McBrearty, Ryan McBrearty,

Intrasquad Meet - October 10
Congrats to the
94 CWAC swimmers who participated in the Annual Intrasquad Meet on
Saturday. This was a great way for new swimmers to get some swim meet experience as we
get ready for the upcoming ISI meets. For the first time in 6 years
the boys defeated the girls in the team scoring. Congrats to the
following multiple individual event winners: Mark Alvarado, Marysol
Arce, Mateo Chavez, Mossimo Chavez, Matthew Fernandez, Cody Meuris
and Evan O’Donnell. Thanks to all of the parents who
helped volunteer with timing, bullpen, candy and the bbq and a
special thanks to our two officials Sue Haney and Jaime Erickson.

Age Group
State Meet - July 31-August 2
Congrats to the 16 CWAC
swimmers who participated in the Age Group State Meet over the
weekend. Danielle Mantich finished 3rd place in the 13-14
girls 200 back to go along with her 8th place finish in the 100
back. Marysol Arce also got on the podium with a 7th place
showing in the 11-12 girls 200 free. The 11-12 boys medley
(6th) and free (8th) relays also turned in a pair of top 8
performances (Shields, Glaab, O’Donnell, Juarez,
Chavez). Reilly Shields won a swim off for 16th place in the
50 free and then came back at night to win the consolation heat
taking 9th place. The 11-12 girls medley (11th) and free
(9th) had a pair of top 16 performances (Tapia, Arce, Juarez,
Mantich, Fernandez). Jesus Juarez finished 12th and 14th in
the 100 and 50 fly. New team records were set by Marysol
Arce, Eva Fernandez, Danielle Mantich, Reilly Shields, Annie Kelly,
Emily Erickson, Lillian Hua, Alexis Porter, Nina Mantich, Karen
Juarez, Natalie Tapia, Gunnar Glaab, Evan O’Donnell, Jesus

St.
Charles Regional - July 26
Congrats to the 13 CWAC
swimmers who participated in the St. Charles Regional Meet.
This meet served as a last chance opportunity to qualify for the
Age Group State Meet. Gunnar Glaab achieved his first ever
state cut in the 100 back. Marysol Arce also picked up state
and zone cuts in the 100 and 400 free. Both times were also
team records for Arce. Top 5 performances were turned in by
Marysol Arce, Emily Erickson, Gunnar Glaab, Evan O’Donnell

Windy
City Conference - July 25
Congrats to the 42 CWAC
swimmers who participated in Windy City Conference Meet.
Marysol Arce picked up a new state time in the 200 free and Reilly
Sheilds made a new cut in the 100 free. Emily Erickson and
Lillian Hua achieved new regional times. Event winners include Marysol Arce, Eva
Fernandez, Gunnar Glaab, Lillian Hua, Reilly Shields and Natalie
Tapia. The Wolfpack also took first place in 6 relay.

Speedo
Sectional - July 22-25
Congrats to the
14 CWAC swimmers who competed
in the Speedo Sectional Meet at the University of Minnesota.
The meet featured over 1000 swimmers from 7 states and provided a
chance to swim against many of the fastest swimmers in the
midwest. Chloe Ott and Garrett Mulchrone picked up their
first summer junior national cuts and both had top 16 individual
performances. Michael Charysh also had a top 16 performance
in the 200 IM. All 6 CWAC relays set new team records and
finished in the top 25 with the girls medley relay (Scodel, Ott,
Redig, Chavez) having the highest finish at 18th place. New
team records were set by Michael Charysh, Alexa Chavez, Brian
Edgeworth, Jenny Hendler, Tracy Karpinski, Danielle Mantich,
Garrett Mulchrone, Chloe Ott, Kayla Redig, Sarah Scodel and Brooke

Senior
State Meet - July 16-19
Six CWAC swimmers
participated in the Senior State Meet in the hopes of qualifying
for the Speedo Sectional Meet. Jaime Juarez and Ramiro
Almaraz both made their Sectional cuts and set several team records
in the process. Eduardo Chavez, Sean Davis, Josh Seifried and
Mark Wilcoxen also turned in strong performances for the
Wolfpack.

Summer Classic - July 10-12
Congrats to the 53 CWAC
swimmers who participated in CWAC’s first ever outdoor meet
over the weekend. Despite numerous lane line encounters the
combined efforts of all of the individuals led CWAC to a team
victory over the 10 other teams competing. The Wolfpack had
numerous personal best times and many new time standards were
achieved. Lillian Hua led the way for the Wolfpack picking up
6 new state times! New state times were achieved by Marysol
Arce, Michael Charysh, Jerry Chavez, Emily Erickson, Eva Fernandez,
Jesus Juarez, and Nina Mantich. New regional times were
posted by Marysol Arce, Karen Juarez, Annie Kelly and Alexis
Porter. New team records were set by Ramiro Almaraz, Marysol
Arce, Michael Charysh, James Christy, Eva Fernandez, Jaime Juarez
and Chloe Ott. Event winners include Ramiro Almaraz, Marysol
Arce, Michael Charysh, Lillian Hua, Jesus Juarez, Danielle Mantich,
Chloe Ott, Kayla Redig and Reilly Shields, Thanks to the

Midway
Races - June 20-21
Congrats to the 55 CWAC
swimmers who competed in the Midway Races last weekend. The
combined efforts of all of the individuals led CWAC to a team
victory over the 16 other teams competing. The Wolfpack had

Brownsburg Swim Club Summer Classic - June
12-14
Congrats to the 22 CWAC
swimmers who made the trip down to Indiana to participate in the
Brownsburg meet over the weekend. This meet has become an
annual trip for CWAC and serves as a great opportunity for an early
season travel meet and to face some different competition.
The Wolfpack had numerous personal best times and many new time
standards were achieved. Reilly Shields picked up 4 new state
times and set a new team record in the 11-12 boys 100 back.
New regional times were posted by Marysol Arce, Emily Erickson,
Gunnar Glaab, Evan O’Donnell, Alexis Porter, Reilly Shields,
Spencer Stoneberg and Natalie Tapia. Eva Fernandez set a new
team record in the 11-12 girls 100 breast. Thanks to all of the parents who made
the trip such a great success and helped organize the Saturday

Lake
Forest Daniel Jaekel Chicago Classic - May
30-31
Congrats to the 38 CWAC
swimmers who participated in the Lake Forest meet over the
weekend. For many this was the first long course meet of the
season and a chance to go against some strong competition.
New state times were achieved by Marysol Arce, Jesus Juarez,
Danielle Mantich Sara Mantich, Spencer Stoneberg, Natalie Tapia and
Kelvin Xie. New regional times were posted by Marysol Arce, Emily
Erickson, Michael Erickson, Brianna Gist, Lillian Hua, Karen

Aquatics Memorial Day Classic - May
23-24
Congrats to the 8 CWAC
swimmers who traveled to Notre Dame over the Memorial Day weekend
to participate in the Irish Aquatics swim meet. Jill Pastick
picked up a new regional time in the 200 free. Brian
Edgeworth and Brooke Telander posted top 3 performances and Kerry
Symanski and Jill Pastick posted top 10 individual performances.
