Southeastern Swim Club’s
Carly Mercer Commits to University of Arkansas
November 16th, 2009
Carly Mercer has committed to
continue her swimming career at the collegiate level. She
will attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville,
Arkansas. The Razorbacks are a NCAA Division I program that
competes in the Southeastern Athletic Conference under the
direction of Coach Jeff Poppell.
Carly is the daughter of Jeff and
Roxanne Mercer. She plans to pursue studies in Exercise
Science and Psychology while attending the University of
Arkansas. She is Co-Captain for the Hamilton Southeastern High
School swim team and will receive her fourth varsity letter this
season. She currently serves on the Student Athletic
Council. Carly has been named to the Honor Roll while
attending Hamilton Southeastern High School and has also
participated in Student Council. She has also been a member of
Southeastern Swim Club (SSC) for five years, where she has
represented SSC at Junior National meets. In addition to
academics, athletics and school activities, she has been a swim
lesson teacher for 3 years for the Southeastern Swim
School.
During her time at Hamilton
Southeastern, she was named an All-American Swimmer from the
National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association. As a
freshman, Carly was a member of
two IHSAA State Champion relay teams (200 Medley & 400 Free).
As an individual, she finished 3rd in the 50 free and 5th in the
100 Free. As a sophomore, Carly was the individual State Champion
in the 100 Free and finished 3rd in the 50 Free. She was also a
member of the State Champion 200 yard Medley Relay team. Last year,
as a junior, Carly finished 2nd in the 100 Free and 5th in the 200
Free.

Southeastern Swim Club Race in early November
November 10th, 2009
Southeastern Swim Club
participated in the November 7, 2009 Super Splash held at Hamilton
Southeastern High School. Over 185 participants from
Southeastern Swim Club competed in the meet. Opportunities
abounded for lots of quick swimming and many athletes posted
lifetime best swims. Congratulations to the following swimmers

Southeastern Swim Club’s Megan Schwartzkopf Commits to
University of Toledo
November 4th, 2009
Megan has committed to continue
her swimming career at the collegiate level. Megan will attend
the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. The Rockets are a
NCAA Division I program that competes in the Mid-American
Conference under the direction of Coach Lars Jorgensen (1988 USA
Olympian in the 1500 meter freestyle and holder of 6 National
Titles).
Megan, daughter of Robert and
Rebecca Schwartzkopf, plans to pursue studies in Business while
attending the University of Toledo. She has been a member of
Southeastern Swim Club (SSC) for eight years. Megan has been
named to the Honor Roll during all semesters while attending
Hamilton Southeastern High School. She also participates in
Student Council and has been active as a HSE HS Freshman
Mentor. In addition to academics, athletics and school
activities, she has been a swim lesson teacher for 4 ½ years
for the Southeastern Swim School.
During her time at SSC, she was
named the Mental Attitude Winner and represented SSC at the Junior
National Swim Meet (both during the summer of 2008). She also
represented Hamilton Southeastern High School at the 2008-2009
IHSAA State Championships where she finished 11th in the
500 freestyle and 13th in the 200 freestyle.
