Volunteer Overview

Club Volunteer Requirement Overview

The success of the Condors Swim Club relies on parent volunteers in order to provide the best program possible for our swimmers. Your assistance helps the Condors maintain an enthusiastic and efficiently managed swimming team. By participating in this service program, you have the opportunity to meet other swim families, team members, and show active support for your child’s swimming efforts.

All Condor families will be required to volunteer a certain number of hours depending on each family’s highest level (training group) athlete. Each family is required to work these hours over the course of the annual season, September to August. Families that do not meet the minimum required work hours will be billed $15 an hour for those unfulfilled hours. Families will also be given the option to simply pay the club volunteer fee instead of working. However, the club would prefer families do not take this option as we would much rather have your time and support than your money. If your family chooses to pay the fee instead of volunteering throughout the year, this year’s requirement is listed below.

Main Objectives

1)

Parent volunteers immensely benefit Condors swimmers. Even the best of athletes needs a cheerleader. This program allows swimmers to compete in a familiar environment with their best supporters standing alongside them. The involvement of their families within this competitive sport hopefully will create a well-rounded swimmer who sees the importance of volunteer work first hand.

2) We would like to see this program help the Condors prosper as a team. This team is a large team made up of over 250 swimmers. It is nearly impossible for our team of coaches to orchestrate all that the team needs to really thrive. This program is a great way to allow the coaches to save their time and energy for coaching while parents take over organizing events and promoting their child and the team. Your participation is crucial for this team to succeed.

3) Quality family time is vital in a child’s development. This service program was set up to provide an opportunity for family bonding. It is important for families to know just how much hard work goes into their child’s commitment to swimming. The program allows swimmers to directly feel the impact of family and volunteering at the same time. The Volunteer Service Program reinforces a family’s strong bond in a healthy and fun environment and shows your child that you are committed to them and their sport.
