New York Sharks Training Trip
History
|
"Take pride in how far you have come. Have faith in how far you can
go."
During every
short course season, the New York Sharks offer a training trip at
the International Swimming Hall of
Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during winter break.
During this week, the Sharks complete the peak of our seasonal
volume with double sessions in two long course meter pools (50
meters). Many swimmers travel down with their families. Oftentimes,
our swim parents as well as younger swimmers in Bronze, Silver and
Gold combine the trip to Fort Lauderdale as a family vacation.
While the swimmers practice, the families enjoy the area’s
attractions and still have the opportunity to spend time with their
swimmers.
The New York
Sharks have been traveling to Fort Lauderdale and the International
Hall of Fame to train since the 2003-2004 season. Since then, the
trip has grown and become tremendously popular among swimmers in
our more competitive groups. Many of our alumni and current
swimmers attest that the training they do during this trip directly
affects their performances at the Championship meets in February
and March!
