when Forest Hills Public Schools cancels school and/or after-school
activities, the RAYS will also cancel practice for all groups
scheduled for the Forest Hills Aquatic Center pool.
All RAYS practices scheduled for
the Southeast YMCA on days of school cancellation will still be
held as scheduled.
On days when Grand Rapids Public
Schools cancels school and/or after-school activities, the RAYS
will also cancel practice for all groups scheduled for the Lincoln
Pool.
When a practice is cancelled,
swimmers are encouraged to find an alternate source of conditioning
for that day (i.e. YMCA pool, lifting weights, core body dryland,
running, etc.).
Practice information will always
be on the RAYS Hotline (285-8830 ext. 106) as soon as
available. PLEASE USE THE RAYS HOTLINE AND NOT THE SE YMCA
FRONT DESK. The front desk employees commonly do not have
accurate or up-to-date information regarding RAYS practices.
The Forest Hills Aquatic Center
policy states that when Forest Hills Public Schools are closed the
Aquatic Center will be closed. The Aquatic Center will also
be closed for power outages that last longer than 30 minutes and
during Tornado Watches and Warnings.
