Missouri State Aquatics Boosters,
Inc.
“The
Beginning”
The first five members of the Missouri
State Aquatics Booster club are also the same individuals who
initiated the work on establishing the organization. The idea was
born as a conversation that continued over the summer among four
swim dads, ultimately ending in a decision to have a first meeting.
The goal was to take a concept and make it into something real. We
quickly added a swim mom, an attorney to consult with, and the
before the summer ended we originated the Missouri State Aquatics
Booster Club, Inc.
In order to receive Missouri non-profit
status we had to have By-laws and a governing board. Since we had
only five people involved in the development of the booster club we
instantaneously became members, as well as the governing body. It
was also important these substantial steps take place so that when
we presented the Booster club to parents (on September 24, 2009) we
could be viewed as an independent entity, established, and
structurally ready for business. We hope that was what was
portrayed, and how you viewed our efforts.
As we move forward we believe many parents
will want to be involved in not only committees and volunteerism,
but also in the governance of the organization. These opportunities
are forthcoming. For now, your Board of the Missouri State Aquatics
Booster Club is as follows.
Kerry Nelson,
President
Kent Moon,

Susie Snider,

Eric Pool, Board
