APRIL 2010
A great swimming weekend in the Arizona sun. We traveled to Tucson April 9-11 for the Arizona State Masters Championship meet which is open to all comers. It drew entries from as far away as Wisconsin and North Carolina. All told, there were 22 teams and we finished third, close behind Phoenix Swim Club and far ahead of 4th place Mesa Aquatics.
As a team, our strongest events were the distance freestyles and the Individual Medley's. Those are two of the main emphases in our training program.
We had 25 swimmers, a blend of very experienced swimmers, some with a little experience and 7 entering their first ever swim meet, and that was representative of the whole meet. There were a goodly number of former world ranked swimmers and several current age group national champions mixed in with a number of former and current "rubber duckie" swimmers!
In the final High Point standings, the following were top 5:
